Among many flags and banners, the Indian tricolor flag was also floating high. A Malayalee American proudly calls himself a republican patriot waved the Indian flag in solidarity at a massive violation of democratic freedom. What is the Indian flag doing at the Capitol Hill riot? This act must be viewed in the light of antiblackness and xenophobia among Malayalee Christian diaspora. This paper explores antiblackness at the intersection of religion and race in the Indian American diaspora. Mr. Vinson Palathinkal, the man who waved the Indian flag at the riot, was interviewed and his supporting claims for the act are used as a locus of enunciation. Palathinkal's argument is used as supportive pieces of evidence of antiblackness and underlying casteism among Indian Americans. We look at an ethnographic interview with Palathinkal to analyze the purview of triumphalism and exceptionalism relevant among Indian American communities.

Among many who participated in the riot to "stop the steal" of the 2020 election, silently sanctioned by former president Donald Trump, the Indian tricolor flag was also floating high. An Indian American who proudly calls himself a Republican patriot waved the Indian flag in solidarity with a massive violation of democratic freedom-an act repudiated by people all over the world. This incident shone a light on the growing anti-blackness and xenophobia among the Indian Christian diaspora.
