I was eager to learn about the impact of the coronavirus on my interlocutors' daily lives, their economic well-being, and their migratory plans. As in many communities the world over, some believed Covid-19 was a conspiracy, a distant threat, or a "Christian"/[alien] disease. Others described how "everyone" in the camp and at home in Yemen had suffered its symptoms.
