The accessibility problem encountered in many public buildings due to the built environment is al... more The accessibility problem encountered in many public buildings due to the built environment is also seen in educational buildings. This study is important in terms of evaluating the accessibility of university buildings and their environments that have great importance in public buildings, so that the education right, which is one of the fundamental rights and freedoms, can be fully and completely enjoyed by disabled people like healthy people. Universities are institutions that contribute to the social and cultural development of young people beyond their educational, research and vocational functions. For this reason, university buildings and their environments; should be equally accessible to all people, as it is an important socialization area, as well as the right of disabled people to access information and acquire a profession. In this article, Gazi University Education Faculty Buildings (Bosna&Hersek) in Ankara were chosen as the study area and as the limitations of this study, the physically disabled, hearing impaired and visually impaired people will be determined. The accessibility of the buildings environment and entrances will be examined through the relevant inquiry forms which created by using TS9111(2011) and TS12576(2012), and the existing incompatibilities will be determined, the accessibility level of the building's environment will be determined. Thanks to the observation and examination to be made, it will be possible to contribute to the determination of the arrangements to be made in order to improve the accessibility level of the selected area, as well as to create a feedback for the designer.

At the beginning of the semester all the students were highly expectant of the atelier, the subject and the earnings they believed they would derive from the semesters’ project study. In special education and rehabilitation buildings, where physically and mentally disabled individ... more In special education and rehabilitation buildings, where physically and mentally disabled individuals receive education and develop some social skills to integrate themselves into social life, many problems are faced depending on the design. The reasons for this are the inadequacy of architectural solutions, the lack of a user-oriented design from scratch, the buildings having different functions before, and the fact that these converted buildings cannot fully meet the requirements of the user. The surplus of "converted special education buildings" in our country and this building group being suitable for the requirements of special education students, and all their requirements are planned from the ground up, and what can be done to make the existing converted buildings affordable with the least cost, designing an accessible and barrier-free special education building were the focal points of the study. There were 4 types of answers in the study, which are compatible, incompatible, partially compatible, and Not Applicable. These types of answers; will be obtained by considering the evaluation forms consisting of TS12576, TS 9111, and "ADA Standards" and Special Education Regulations. The data obtained will show us that the full efficiency could not be reached during the conversion because the building was not designed from scratch for the disabled at the scale of the standards.

By applying a questionnaire to a group of atelier participants that consist of varying age and experience levels that value their opinions on their personal gains on varying aspects of architectural design at two different stages of the semester. The first to be the face-to face start to the spring 2020 semester ant the second is the online conclusion of the project lessons in Summer 2020. It was possible to understand and evaluate the Atelier participant Students" ideas and opinions of their early expectations, and final acquisitions from the architectural project and how varying types of learning styles of each student is significantly reflected when their primary expectations and final acquisitions are comparatively evaluated in a disrupted education period.

Sağlıklı yaşlanma kavramı günümüzde giderek önem kazanmıştır. Sağlıklı yaşlanma ve fiziksel aktivite arasında önemli bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sedanter yaşam tarzı, çeşitli hastalıklara yol açarak yaşam kalitesini olumsuz etkileyen ve erken ölümlere neden olan önemli bir toplum sağlığı sorunudur. Bireysel, psiko-sosyal özellikler, düzensiz şehirleşme ve teknolojik gelişmeler bireyleri sedanter yaşama yöneltmektedir. Bireyin fiziksel aktiviteye katılma kararı, çevrenin algılanmasında rol oynayan bilişsel faktörlerden, sağlık durumundan, kendini algılama biçiminden, psiko-sosyal ve sosyo-ekonomik durumdan, yaşanılan binanın çevresinin özelliklerinden etkilenebilir. Kentsel tasarım ve altyapı hizmetleri sunulurken, bireyleri fiziksel aktiviteye teşvik etmek için gerekli düzenlemeler göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır. Fiziksel aktivite için güvenli, çekici ve pratik olan, ulaşım ve boş zamanları değerlendirmede kolaylık sağlayan düzenlemeler yapılarak, çevre sakinlerinin fiziksel aktiviteyi yaşamlarına katmalarına yardımcı olunabilir. Yapılan araştırmalar, insanların yoğun olduğu, alışveriş imkanı olan, restoranlar, toplu taşıma imkanları, parklar, spor salonları, yaya kaldırımları ve geçitleri, aydınlatma ve trafik lambaları, bisiklet yollarının bulunduğu yürünebilir çevrede ve psiko-sosyal desteğin arttığı bir ortamda yaşayan insanların, fiziksel olarak daha aktif olduklarını ortaya koymuştur. Sonuç olarak, gerek yetişkin dönemde, gerekse yaşlılıkta farklı yönlerden fiziksel aktiviteyi destekleyen bir ortamda yaşamak ve böylece fiziksel olarak daha aktif olmak, oluşabilecek birçok kronik hastalık riskini azaltarak, daha sağlıklı bir yaşlılık dönemi geçirme olanağı sağlayacaktır.

Diğer meslek alanları ile işbirliği içinde olmayı gerektiren mimarlık pratiğine hazırlık, mimarlı... more Diğer meslek alanları ile işbirliği içinde olmayı gerektiren mimarlık pratiğine hazırlık, mimarlık eğitimi içinde birlikte çalışmaların yolu açılarak sağlanabilir. -21. yüzyılda mimari sosyal sorumluluk, yerel uygulama, global etki- “houses for change” başlıklı yarışmanın disiplinler arası oluşacak takım çalışmalarına yaptığı çağrı, Gazi Üniversitesi Mimarlık Bölümü’nün düşey örgütlenen atölye sisteminin bir parçası olan “Atölye 6” bünyesinde 2013-2014 güz dönemi çalışma konu ve yöntemi olarak benimsenmiştir. Takım çalışması yöntemi ile yarışma hazırlığı; içerisinde potansiyeller, problemler ve çözüm denemeleri barındıran bir tasarım stüdyosu deneyimini oluşturmuştur.
