Exploring Individuals’ Experiences with Security Attacks: A Text Mining and Qualitative Study

The surge in social media platform usage has prompted users to share their firsthand experiences with cyber-attacks. Despite this, previous literature has not extensively investigated individuals' experiences with these attacks. This study aims to comprehensively explore and analyze the content shared by cyber-attack victims in Saudi Arabia, encompassing text, video, and audio formats. The primary objective is to investigate the factors influencing victims' perceptions of the security risks associated with these attacks. Following data collection, preparation, and cleaning, Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) is employed for topic modeling, shedding light on potential factors impacting victims. Sentiment analysis is then utilized to examine the nuanced negative and positive perceptions of individuals. NVivo is deployed for data inspection, facilitating the presentation of insightful inferences. Hierarchical clustering is implemented to explore distinct clusters within the textual dataset. The study's results underscore the critical importance of spreading awareness among individuals regarding the various tactics employed by cyber attackers.

The present work aims to develop a Decision Support System (DSS) that may provide and facilitate one of the most difficult multi-decision problems that quality managers, in textile manufacturing firm face. In addition, the DSS is developed for a textile manufacturer and it will automate a variety of tasks to improve rolls quality; control the defect distribution on rolls by inventing anew cutting scenarios with respect to inspection results, rolls length, and number of assemblies. The DSS tool, applied for more than 100 fabric lots, will be demonstrated through a short selection of practical case studies.

Abstract: AODV is a mature and widely accepted routing protocol for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET... more Abstract: AODV is a mature and widely accepted routing protocol for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET), it has low processing and memory overhead and low network utilization, and works well even in high mobility situation. We modified AODV to use these dominating sets, resulting in the AODV-DS protocol. Our contribution in addressing the fragility of a minimum connected dominating set in the presence of mobility and cross-traffic. We develop three heuristics to fortify the dominating set process against loss by re-introducing some redundancy using a least-first set cover rather than a greedy set cover. AODV-DS exhibits about a 70 % savings in RREQ traffic while maintaining the same or better latency and delivery ratio for 30 source nodes in a graph of 50 nodes. It was also about as fair as conventional AODV in distributing the RREQ burden among all nodes, except in cases of low-mobility and few source nodes. We introduced MANHSI (Multicast for Ad hoe Network with hybrid Swarm Intelligence) protocol, which relies on a swarm intelligence based optimization technique to learn and discover efficient multicast connectivity. The proposed protocol instances that it can quickly and efficiently establish initial multicast connectivity and/or improved the resulting connectivity via different optimization techniques. Using a simulation approach, we investigated performance of the proposed algorithm through a comparison with an algorithm previously proposed in the literature. Based on the numerical results, we demonstrate that our proposed algorithm performs well.

To obtain the required input to the Irregular Behavior Model Firstly the needed data were collected after that the data are analyzed by using ABC analysis, and then the analyzed data were used to solve the problems. The proposed model is adaptable and can be a supporter of decision-makers.

Due to lack of centralized control, secured communication in mobile ad hoc network is a crucial issue due to dynamic nature of the network topology. While the routing aspects of mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are already well understood, the research activities about security in MANETs are still at their beginning. MANETs pose a number of new security problems in addition to the problems of regular networks. In this paper, we propose an effective security AODV algorithm called ES-AODV to enhance the data security. Simulation results show that our algorithm provides a reasonably good level of security and performance.
