The proposed method is based on the Fuzzy C-means Clustering and the Similarity-Driven Cluster Merging criterion. Experimental results demonstrate the robustness of the proposed method.

This classifier uses CHI square method as a feature selection method in the pre-processing step of the Text Classification system design procedure. Comparing to other classification methods, our system shows a high classification effectiveness for Arabic data set in term of F-measure (F=88.11).

Due to dynamic nature in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs), Quality of Service (QoS) routing is one... more Due to dynamic nature in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs), Quality of Service (QoS) routing is one of the most critical issues. Many researches have been investigated QoS over different network architectures, but few of them focused on QoS in MANETs. In this paper, a bandwidth based DSR routing protocol is proposed (QoS-DSR). Extensions were added to DSR routing protocol so that the routes are selected to satisfy the bandwidth (BW) constraint in MANETs. Glomosim is used to simulate the proposed routing protocol, results were satisfactory over many performance metrics.

ABSTRACT This paper presents a novel non-contact heart rate extraction method from vowel speech s... more ABSTRACT This paper presents a novel non-contact heart rate extraction method from vowel speech signals. The proposed method is based on modeling the relationship between speech production of vowel speech signals and heart activities for humans where it is observed that the moment of heart beat causes a short increment (evolution) of vowel speech formants. The short-time Fourier transform (STFT) is used to detect the formant maximum peaks so as to accurately estimate the heart rate. Compared with traditional contact pulse oximeter, the average accuracy of the proposed non-contact heart rate extraction method exceeds 95%. The proposed non-contact heart rate extraction method is expected to play an important role in modern medical applications.
