English: This article introduces the concept of Prompt as Thought Mirror, a conceptual theory viewing prompts (instructions or questions directed to AI or humans) as a reflection of human thinking. The theory emphasizes that prompts are not mere communication tools but can: • Facilitate cognitive reflection, • Stimulate meta-cognitive awareness, and • Support meaning-making collaboration between humans and AI. This paper presents operational definitions, foundational assumptions, a conceptual model, and both academic and practical implications.

Kata kunci: komunikasi manusia-AI, epistemologi digital, simbiosis intelektual, etika algoritmik, posthumanisme Abstract (English) The contemporary communication paradigm is undergoing a fundamental shift from the human-to-human (H2H) model to human-AI (H2A) and AI-human (A2H) interaction. This study analyzes this transformation by positioning Artificial Intelligence (AI) not merely as a communication tool, but as a communicative actor that co-constructs meaning and knowledge with humans. Using a conceptual-analytical approach grounded in Human-AI Symbiotic Communication Theory (HASCT), Epistemic Questioning Theory (EQT), and the Posthuman Communication Paradigm, this paper argues that human-AI communication is both symbiotic and epistemic. AI functions as a cothinker capable of contextual understanding, reflective questioning, and influencing human decision-making. Theoretical and practical implications include a redefinition of learning processes, communication ethics, and decision-making models within humanmachine ecosystems.

Through a reflective and analytical approach, it demonstrates how the acceleration of information flow has shifted the essence of knowledge from a contemplative activity to a shallow and reactive form of cognitive consumption. In the digital ecosystem, speed replaces depth, efficiency displaces reflection, and truth is reduced to viral visibility. This phenomenon signifies a transformation in the human cognitive ecology-from dialogical spaces to algorithmic logics governed by the attention economy. The paper argues that restoring the epistemic dignity of humankind requires a revaluation of knowledge practices: from instant knowledge toward reflective knowing that allows space for meaning and wisdom.

In the digital era, human beings are confronted with an overwhelming flow of data and the accelerating speed of information that exceeds their reflective capacity. This article argues that digital technology has shifted human cognition from reflective depth to reactive immediacy-from the pursuit of meaning to the consumption of data. Using a reflective-critical approach, the paper explores the roots of the epistemic crisis through three interrelated layers: (1) the transformation of the ecology of knowledge within digital culture, (2) the erosion of reflective capacity caused by cognitive disruption, and (3) the implications for educational praxis and the cultivation of critical awareness. The study concludes that the solution to this crisis lies not in accumulating more information but in restoring reflection as humanity's epistemic compass.

This article examines this phenomenon within the context of digital culture, where the ease of access to information is often mistaken for depth of understanding. Using an interdisciplinary approach that combines communication theory, epistemology, and the philosophy of education, this study highlights the paradox between "knowing" and "understanding." It finds that technological advancement does not automatically correspond to depth of thought; rather, it often creates an illusion of intelligence that erodes the human capacity for reflection. The article emphasizes the need to rebuild epistemic humility and critical reflection as the core of wisdom in the information age.

This paper introduces the Human-AI Symbiotic Communication Theory (HASCT)-a conceptual framework that explains how humans and AI systems co-construct meaning through interdependent cognitive and computational processes. Unlike traditional models of communication that emphasize message transmission or feedback, HASCT positions communication as an adaptive symbiosis, where human intentionality and algorithmic reasoning mutually evolve to produce dynamic epistemic ecosystems. The theory advances three foundational dimensions: Cognitive Intentionality (human purpose and interpretation), Algorithmic Adaptivity (AI's capacity to learn and adjust), and Epistemic Reciprocity (mutual enhancement of knowledge structures). Through this model, HASCT redefines digital-era communication as a symbiotic process of meaning-making-where intelligence is distributed, adaptive, and cocreated.

Unlike traditional communication models that emphasize message transmission or shared understanding among humans, EQT conceptualizes the question as a cognitive interface that mediates between human intentionality and algorithmic reasoning. Within this framework, meaning is co-constructed through iterative dialogue loops in which human cognition provides epistemic direction, while AI computation supplies analytical patterning. EQT introduces a paradigm shift: knowledge in the digital age emerges not from the intelligence of AI responses but from the epistemic quality of human questions.

Epistemic Questioning Theory (EQT) posits that questions function not merely as prompts but as epistemic instruments that determine the accuracy, depth, and ethical integrity of AI-generated knowledge. This paper presents EQT as a new theoretical framework explaining how the quality of human inquiry shapes machine cognition. The study highlights that intelligent questioning represents a critical digital literacy skill that underpins reflective learning and ethical communication in the AI era.

The rapid evolution of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the human-machine ... more The rapid evolution of generative artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed the human-machine relationship from an instructional to a collaborative paradigm. In this new epistemic landscape, questioning is no longer a secondary act but a primary cognitive competence that determines the accuracy, depth, and ethical value of AI-generated responses. This article conceptually analyzes how questioning skills-creative, critical, and adaptive-shape the quality of human-AI interaction, and how individuals and organizations can systematically cultivate such competencies. Through theoretical reflection and practical synthesis, this study concludes that the future of human-AI communication is defined not merely by algorithmic sophistication but by the intelligence embedded in the questions posed. Consequently, intelligent questioning becomes the foundation of digital literacy, reflective learning, and ethical decision-making in the age of artificial intelligence.

The advancement of digital technology has radically transformed the landscape of information diss... more The advancement of digital technology has radically transformed the landscape of information dissemination. Amid the convenience of access and global connectivity, societies now face the proliferation of false knowledge-information that appears scientific yet lacks empirical foundation. This paper analyzes the dynamics of false knowledge through three main dimensions: epistemological, psychological, and social. Epistemically, false knowledge blurs the boundary between "knowing" and "believing," creating distortions in reasoning and decision-making. Psychologically, it exploits cognitive biases such as confirmation bias and the illusory truth effect, reinforcing false beliefs. Socially, it operates through pseudoauthorities, group polarization, and digital algorithms that accelerate the spread of misinformation. The findings reveal that false knowledge produces multidimensional consequences-undermining individuals' critical thinking, eroding social cohesion, and threatening the legitimacy of public policy. Combating this phenomenon requires comprehensive strategies integrating information and scientific literacy, multi-layered verification methods, and cross-disciplinary approaches to build epistemic resilience in the digital era.

From the first humans communicating through symbols on cave walls to the present day interactions... more From the first humans communicating through symbols on cave walls to the present day interactions through smartphone screens, one constant remains: communication has always been at the core of human life. Yet, the ways in which we communicate have changed rapidly. In the past, letters took days to arrive; then came the telephone; now, with a single tap, a message can cross continents in mere seconds. The digital era has transformed communication not only in form and speed but also in meaning. Social media, for instance, allows anyone to become an information disseminator, an opinion shaper, or even a "public figure" with just a brief post. Behind this convenience, however, arise new challenges: misinformation spreading faster than clarification, sharp political polarization, and ethical concerns such as the misuse of personal data. These phenomena are not only global but also deeply felt in everyday life. Consider a housewife receiving a chain message on WhatsApp about a "miracle herbal cure" for all ailments. Without verification, the message spreads quickly and influences many. Or a student whose social media feed is filled with onesided political content because algorithms only display posts aligned with personal preferences. Even mundane experiences like online shopping reflect digital communication: searching for a pair of sneakers once may result in ads following the user across apps and websites. These examples illustrate how algorithms, data, and information shape our daily communication experiences. We recall the Cambridge Analytica scandal, which revealed how digital data can influence political directions. Or the deepfake technology capable of fabricating faces and voices, raising questions about information authenticity. Even major corporations, such as Amazon, faced criticism for biased digital recruitment systems against women. These instances demonstrate that digital communication is not merely about technology but also about values, justice, and the future of society. Despite the risks, digital communication offers enormous opportunities. Distance education, cross-border collaborative work, social campaigns for environmental or humanitarian causes-all are enabled by digital technology. This new paradigm demands that we be not just passive users but critical learners capable of understanding, leveraging, and regulating digital communication for collective benefit. Digital Communication Paradigms is designed to help readers understand how communication has evolved in the digital era, explore its challenges and opportunities, and engage with these developments wisely. By combining theoretical frameworks and real-life examples, this book aims to serve as both a reflective and practical guide for students, researchers, practitioners, and the general public seeking deeper insight into the digital world. All praise and gratitude are due to God Almighty, whose grace and blessings have made it possible for A Study of Digital Communication Paradigms to be compiled and reach the hands of readers. This book emerged from both a sense of concern and academic curiosity about how digital technology has reshaped human communication in personal, social, and institutional spheres. The rapid development of information technology, social media, algorithms, and artificial intelligence has opened new opportunities but also complex challenges. We live in an era where messages can spread within seconds, yet truth is often overlooked. Digital communication has become both a tool for empowerment and an arena for conflict, a bridge for connection and a source of polarization. This book aims to provide critical reflection as well as practical guidance for understanding and managing digital communication phenomena. By integrating theory, real-world case studies, and interdisciplinary analysis, it addresses the needs of academics, students, practitioners, and the general public seeking a deeper understanding of communication dynamics in the digital era. I extend my gratitude to fellow academics, students, researchers, and communication practitioners who have provided input, inspiration, and constructive discussion during the writing process. It is hoped that this work will not remain solely theoretical but will encourage readers to approach digital communication critically, reflectively, and responsibly.
