Many researches have been conducted to enhance nutritional value of foods as meat, eggs, and milk. Eggs are considered the most convenient way to supply bioactive nutrients. While protein and total lipid concentrations of eggs are not readity altered, fatty acid composition, mineral and vitamin contents can be modified by feeding the hens with certain dietary ingredients. Phương pháp đề xuất dựa trên nguyên lý của phương pháp load-transfer kết hợp với công thức xác định sức chịu tải thân cọc có phụt vữa thân cọc. Các trường hợp thử tải hiện trường của cọc khoan nhồi có đường kính lớn (có và không có phụt vữa thân cọc) ở thành phồ Hồ Chí Minh được đưa vào phân tích. Kết quả phân tích của phương pháp đề xuất được kiểm chứng với kết quả thử tải hiện trường. Với sự tương đồng giữa kết quả phân tích từ mô hình và kết quả thử tải hiện trường, bài báo mở rộng phân tích đánh giá ảnh hưởng của việc phụt vữa thân cọc đến sức chịu tải cọc có phụt vữa thân cọc khi cọc được thay đổi chiều dài và đường kính cọc. The genus Mussaenda is an important source of medicinal natural products, particularly iridoids, ... more The genus Mussaenda is an important source of medicinal natural products, particularly iridoids, triterpenes, saponines and flavonoids. The plants are members of the Rubiaceae and are native to the Old World tropics, from West Africa through the Indian sub-continent, South-East Asia and to Southern China. There are more than 200 species of Mussaenda known. Some species of Mussaenda have been used in traditional medicine. The abundance of the iridoids and its wide availability makes the plant a potential target for studying the activity of this drug. From the water extract of Mussaenda pubescens, six compounds, shanzhiside methylester (1), barlerin (2), mussaenoside (3), (6S, 9R)-roseoside (4), mussaendoside L (5) and coniferin (6) were isolated. Phương pháp: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang. Kết quả: Tổn thương GCX chiếm tỷ lệ 24,7%. Tuổi chủ yếu là 40-60 tuổi (58,8%), tiếp đến >60 tuổi chiếm 5,3% và < 40 tuổi chiếm 5,9%. Nam giới tổn thương GCX (64,7%) nhiều hơn nữ giới (35,3%).Thời gian từ khi có tổn thương GCX đến khi chụp CHT chủ yếu từ 6 tuần đến 6 tháng (58,8%). Nguyên nhân tổn thương GCX chủ yếu là chấn thương (41,2%), thoái hóa (29,4%) và viêm quanh khớp vai (23,5%). Tổn thương GCX chủ yếu ở vai phải (70,6%), vai trái chỉ chiếm 29,4%. Rách bán phần GCX chiếm 100%, chủ yếu là tổn thương GCTG. Rách xuyên gân (64,7%).Tổn thương bán phần GCX chủ yếu ở mức độ II (76,5%) và 23,5% tổn thương mức độ I, không có tổn thương mức độ III. In this study, an amount of 12.05 g of an α-amyrin and β-amyrin mixture was isolated from C. hindsii (10.75 g/kg dry weight) by column chromatography applying different solvent systems to obtain maximum efficiency. α-Amyrin and β-amyrin were then confirmed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). The antioxidant activities of the α-amyrin and β-amyrin mixture were determined via 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,20-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) assays with IC50 of 125.55 and 155.28 µg/mL, respectively. The mixture exhibited a high potential for preventing gout by inhibiting a relevant key enzyme, xanthine oxidase (XO) (IC50 = 258.22 µg/mL). In this study, chemical compositions of rice leaf EO and in vitro biological activities were investigated. In this study, we evaluated the potential use of T. procumbens to treat hyperuricemia, oxidative stress, and bacterial infection. Ethyl acetate extract of this plant was separated to different fractions by column chromatography (CC) using chloroform and methanol as eluents and subjected to xanthine oxidase (XO) inhibitory, antioxidant, and antibacterial assays. The results showed that the F45–47 fraction exhibited the strongest XO inhibitory activity (IC50 = 133.17 µg/mL), while the F48–50 fraction possessed maximum antioxidant activity assessed by DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) and ABTS (2,2’-azinobis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) assays (IC50 = 0.51 and 1.04 mg/mL, respectively). Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of dietary supplementation of Bacillus, ... more Two experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of dietary supplementation of Bacillus, Saccharomyces and lactic acid bacteria (LAB) on performance and nutrient digestibility in grower and finisher pigs. In Exp. 1, 80 pigs (32 females and 48 males), 28.7±0.9 kg body weight (BW), were randomly divided into 4 treatment groups balanced for sex and weight (5 pigs per pen, 4 pens per treatment). They were fed one of four diets: a basal grower (20-50 kg BW) and finisher (>50 kg BW) diet without any addition of probiotic or antibiotic (diet C), the basal diet supplemented with Bacillus subtilis H4 (diet B), diet B supplemented with Saccharomyces boulardi Sb (diet BS) and diet BS supplemented with a LAB complex (diet BSL). The LAB complex consisted of Enterococcus faecium 6H2, Lactobacillus acidophilus C3, Pediococcus pentosaceus D7, and Lactobacillus fermentum NC1. In Exp. 2, 16 male pigs, 29.2±0.8 kg BW, were kept in individual pens and divided into 4 groups (4 pigs in each group). All 4 groups were given exactly the same growing-period diets (diet C, B, BS and BSL) as in Exp 1. The total faeces and urine were collected during 5 days (day 20-24) to determine nitrogen retention and total tract digestibility. In the growing period, average daily feed intake (ADFI), average daily gain (ADG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR) were not affected by diet B and BS (p>0.05), but ADG increased (+5.9%) (p<0.05) and FCR improved (+5.9%) (p<0.05) on diet BSL compared with the control, although ADFI was not different (p>0.05). Digestibility of crude protein and organic matter was higher (p<0.05) in diet BSL and digestibility of crude fibre was higher (p<0.05) in diet BS and BSL than in diet C. Nitrogen retention was not affected by diet (p>0.05). The faecal LAB counts were increased in grower pigs fed diet BSL (p<0.05) and faecal E. coli counts were decreased in pigs fed diets BS and BSL (p<0.05). In the finishing period, no effects of diet were found in ADFI, ADG, FCR, nutrient digestibility, and nitrogen retention (p>0.05). Faecal LAB and E. coli counts in the finisher pigs were not affected by diet (p>0.05). In conclusion, the current study demonstrates that a mixture of bacteria and yeast has the potential to be used as a probiotic dietary supplement in grower pigs.

Without acceleration (constant speed), the position and velocity both in range and azimuth can be estimated using a multichannel SAR system. This paper introduces a method to find the lower bound on variance of estimate of position and velocity for targets. The method is based on the assumptions needed for the Cramér-Rao lower bound (CRLB). The method works for both narrowband (NB) and ultrawideband (UWB) SAR systems. For demonstration, a monostatic single-channel UWB SAR system operating at low frequency is used. Thus, only lower bounds for estimate variance of azimuth, range, and relative speed are derived.

In a realistic scenario, it is very likely that the lighting conditions of the probe image does not correspond to those of the gallery image, hence there is a need to handle such variations. In this work, we present a new preprocessing algorithm based on Local Binary Patterns (LBP): a texture representation is derived from the input face image before being forwarded to the classifier. The efficiency of the proposed approach is empirically demonstrated using both an appearance-based (LDA) and a feature-based (HMM) face authentication systems on two databases: BANCA and XM2VTS (with its darkened set). Conducted experiments show a significant improvement in terms of verification error rates and compare to results obtained with state-of-the-art preprocessing techniques.
