In the last years, many papers about research on PWM rectifiers have been published, these conver... more In the last years, many papers about research on PWM rectifiers have been published, these converters are widely used in power electrical networks, wind and solar power AC-DC interfacing, and in many other industry applications. In this paper, the direct current control based on hysteresis fuzzy logic controlled three-phase voltage source PWM rectifier for eliminating harmonics and compensating reactive power simultaneously in a power system is presented. A detailed mathematical model of the system is described and analysed. The proposed strategies are used to obtained nearly sinusoidal input current, low harmonics distortion (THD), improve the power factor at the unity, regulation of DC-link voltage at the required level with better responses and excellent performance. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed strategy.

The aim of this paper is to describe development of a new control structure for Automatic Voltage... more The aim of this paper is to describe development of a new control structure for Automatic Voltage Regulator system. This approach is based on the optimization of the control voltage magnitude of a brushless excitation synchronous alternator machine operating at variable speed. The choice of the machine type is justified by its attractiveness in several areas such as the aircraft domain due to its autonomy and robustness. The considered control technique is based on the simultaneous optimization of two regulators introduced in the loop control. The parameters of the Proportional Integral Derivatives (PID) regulator have been optimized using the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), which is considered as an attractive method considering the wide operating speed range, and the load variations compared with the classical methods such as Ziegler Nichols. Many robustness tests are carried out by considering the parameters variations as well as the perturbation connection and disconnection of the load at low and high speeds.

For this purpose, we use the Newton Raphson algorithm for solving nonlinear equations to determine the optimal switching angles. In our study, we consider multilevel inverters with output voltages of odd levels. Finally, we evaluate the rate of distorting harmonics (THD) of obtained voltages, according to various indices of adjustment.

Actuellement, les éoliennes utilisant une génératrice asynchrone à double alimentation « GADA » s... more Actuellement, les éoliennes utilisant une génératrice asynchrone à double alimentation « GADA » sont les plus utilisées pour production de l'énergie électrique. Notre travail consiste dans la première étape à la modélisation de la chaine de conversion de l'énergie éolienne où la génératrice asynchrone à double alimentation fonctionne à vitesse variable. Et, en seconde étape, on considère le réglage des puissances active et réactive afin d'assurer un fonctionnement optimal. A cet effet, une commande vectorielle est appliquée pour assurer un découplage entre ses grandeurs électromécaniques. Ces deux parties, sont développées et programmées sous Matlab/Simulink a fin d'analyser par simulation le comportement de la chaine dans les différant domaines de fonctionnement possibles. This study analyses yearly and seasonal wind speed data recorded over eight years using Weibull d... more This study analyses yearly and seasonal wind speed data recorded over eight years using Weibull distribution function and the direct power control application of a wind chain. The wind potential evaluation was carried out based on empirical model. Results show that, during the warm months the wind speed is uniform, constant and stable. In addition, it has been found that the use of a control strategy was necessary for extracting the optimum power. For this purpose, the second part of this work presents a direct power control (DPC) technique in order to adjust the produced active and reactive powers. The application and performance evaluation of the proposed control system implemented within the d-q reference framework has been exposed and discussed. The system modeling and the control diagram are built under MATLAB software. According to simulation results, the forward power control provides almost sinusoidal input waveform current, constant switching frequency operation, unity power factor regulation and also provides powers decoupling. As shown by simulation results, the suggested control method is efficient.

In this work, the modeling and control of the Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) based on doub... more In this work, the modeling and control of the Wind Energy Conversion Systems (WECS) based on doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) are presented. Firstly, we developed the models of the different elements of the conversion chain. After, we consider the vector control strategy of the active and reactive powers in order to ensure an optimum operation. Finally, the dynamic model of a DFIG and wind turbine grid connected system is determined in the dq-synchronous reference frame. The numerical simulation results obtained with Matlab/Simulink software present the behaviors of the sub-synchronous and supersynchronous operation modes. This technique was object of a deep study for synchronous motor drives instead of precise closed loop speed control. However, this technique presents some problems such as, high influence of the motor parameters. The sliding mode controller is a model-based approach used to improve the robustness of the control law despite this influence and to illustrate the good performance of this technique.

Then, we can deduce a significant consumption of fossil energy resources (coal, oil etc.), which is becoming a cause of air pollution throughout the world. Even if at least these fossil resources are still available, they will not be available in the near future, which is why decisionmakers are encouraging research into the use of alternative renewable energy resources. This paper presents a mathematical model of the photovoltaic generator. Simulation results under different environmental climatic conditions are presented and discussed. The obtained results show that the perturbation and observation maximum power point tracking technique provides fast and high performances under different irradiance and temperature levels.

Literature offers many MPPT algorithms that can go near the maximum power point. The characteristics of the photovoltaic panel under partial shade include several local MPPs and one global. Classical maximum power point tracking algorithms cannot achieve overall MPP. So, this work aims to study the behavioral performances of two (02) optimization techniques. They were developed to extract the overall MPP from the partially shaded PV. Maximum power point tracking performances based on PSO and P&O are evaluated for different partial shading models based on Matlab / Simulink.

Simulation results obtained are presentedand analyzed. The results show the high performance andimprove the electric energy of the control strategy adopted inthe WECS based on a DFIG driven by a MC.

In this paper, we have investigated the impact of the dynamic magnetic hysteresis on the induced ... more In this paper, we have investigated the impact of the dynamic magnetic hysteresis on the induced currents. The method used combines a finite element method and a numerical procedure capable of analyzing dynamic hysteresis in axial-symmetric problems. The ferromagnetic hysteresis is described by Jiles-Atherton model. This model is integrated in finite element method (FEM) in order to resolve magneto-dynamic problems. The interface between the Jiles-Atherton model and the finite element magnetic vector potential formulation is introduced through the fixed-point iterative technique.
