While BIM is primarily used for digital modelling and management of modern buildings and infrastructure, hBIM is a specialized methodology for the documentation, analysis, and conservation of cultural heritage. Key aspects such as the use of parametric vs. non-parametric models, the integration of historical sources and scanned data, and the role of both approaches in architecture, restoration, and construction are examined.
