The Government of India declared a countrywide lockdown of all educational institutions on 16th M... more The Government of India declared a countrywide lockdown of all educational institutions on 16th March, 2020, due to the spread of Pandemic COVID-19. A year has passed since then when the entire educational system in India, including school and higher education
institutes switched from face to face mode of teaching learning to virtual mode. The educational institutions chose to operate partially or completely through online mode acting according to the circumstances and ease of lifting of the lockdown. In the present study, student teachers of D.El.Ed participated to share their experiences and reflections related to classroom teaching- learning (online and traditional), assignments and assessment, workshops, School Experience Programme (SEP) and overall learning in a teacher education course during COVID-19 pandemic.

Gender sensitisation and inclusion is an important subject from educational and social point of v... more Gender sensitisation and inclusion is an important subject from educational and social point of view. This paper seeks to provide innovative strategies for gender sensitisation at three places-home, educational institutions and workplace. Data was collected through a questionnaire having 4 open ended questions. In this qualitative study, 27 participants had participated who were selected through purposeful sampling. The study is based on the premise that people from different cultures experience gender issues like gender biasness, gender discrimination, gender stereotyping, gender inclusion etc. differently. Therefore, the strategies suggested by the participants stem from their experience and observations in real life. The data was corroborated with findings from previously published studies. Some of the strategies suggested include-use of gender-neutral language, adequate representation in both pictorial and texts in books, provision of child care leave for both parents, financial education for women among many others. It was also observed that participants had treated gender as binary despite a lot of awareness about LGBTQ community. Most strategies aimed at bringing equity to the feminine gender.

This has prompted a change in the role of teachers to that of a friend, facilitator and guide. With a change in role of the teacher, the Teacher Education Programmes have also been re-structured. In the light of the NCTE Regulations 2014, the field of Teacher Education is presented with many challenges like quality of teachers, preparing the teachers for
inclusive classrooms, implementation of ICT in learning, gender issues etc. The School Internship Programme forms an essential part of the pre-service teacher education. The aim of this paper is to suggest strategies for making teaching practice for school internship more effective divided in three phases i.e., Pre internship phase, Interactive Phase and Post Internship Phase. These strategies would help in improving practice teaching and whetting the professional skills which are desired by the changed school system.

The study is funded by SCERT, Delhi. This is a follow up study of a TPD on CPELO for government school teachers of grades III- V. The study explores which classroom practices in a government school setting, were functional, adapted or discarded.

The research focuses on the implementation of the Classroom Practices for Enhanced Learning Outcomes (CPELO) module, a structured teacher training program designed to foster student centered learning. By evaluating the integration of innovative classroom strategies such as collaborative learning techniques, constructivist approaches, and formative assessments, this study highlights the effectiveness of these methodologies while also identifying challenges that need to be addressed for better implementation.

These students attend are out of school or first generation learners and attend bridge program at Special Training Centres (STCs) before being mainstreaned into regular classes according to their age as outlined in RTE,2009.
