Souvik Pal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sister Nivedita University (Techno India Group), Kolkata, India. Prior to that, he was associated with Global Institute of Management and Technology; Brainware University, Kolkata; JIS College of Engineering, Nadia; Elitte College of Engineering, Kolkata; and Nalanda Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, India. Dr. Pal received his MTech, and PhD degrees in the field of Computer Science and Engineering from KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, India. He has more than a decade of academic experience. He is author or co-editor of more than 15 books from reputed publishers, including Elsevier, Springer, CRC Press, and Wiley, and he holds three patents. Cloud computing is a global storage framework whereby users use the tools, including the computat... more Cloud computing is a global storage framework whereby users use the tools, including the computation, storage, network, etc., that are provided automatically. The computational has led the cloud data centers to be stored in digital services that many consumers distribute. The biggest problem with cloud data centers is handling the millions of users' continuous proposals. Therefore, in this paper, Adaptive Scheduling Algorithm Based Task Loading (ASA-TL) has been proposed to manage cloud data centers' task to be stored in digital devices. ASA is implemented in which the task is shared between all the current virtual servers,and the cloud data are protected from overloading. The data assignment is made by taking account of the importance and status of the digital device that helps to assign task fairly and use them efficiently. TL manages these requests efficiently, and the task input must be equally and reliably allocated between various processors. The experimental result suggests that ASA-TL achieves the highest performance assessment measurements, including response time, processing time in the data center and overall expense.

Optimized Energy Efficient Strategy for Data Reduction Between Edge Devices in Cloud-IoT

Numerous Internet of Things (IoT) systems produce massive volumes of information that must be han... more Numerous Internet of Things (IoT) systems produce massive volumes of information that must be handled and answered in a quite short period. The growing energy usage related to the migration of data into the cloud is one of the biggest problems. Edge computation helps users unload the workload again from cloud near the source of the information that must be handled to save time, increase security, and reduce the congestion of networks. Therefore, in this paper, Optimized Energy Efficient Strategy (OEES) has been proposed for extracting, distributing, evaluating the data on the edge devices. In the initial stage of OEES, before the transmission state, the data gathered from edge devices are supported by a fast error like reduction that is regarded as the largest energy user of an IoT system. The initial stage is followed by the reconstructing and the processing state. The processed data is transmitted to the nodes through controlled deep learning techniques. The entire stage of data collection, transmission and data reduction between edge devices uses less energy. The experimental results indicate that the volume of data transferred decreases and does not impact the professional data performance and predictive accuracy. Energy consumption of 7.38 KJ and energy conservation of 55.57 kJ was found in the proposed OEES scheme. Predictive accuracy is 97.5 percent, data performance rate was 97.65 percent, and execution time is 14.49 ms.

Worldwide, India is in 2nd position regarding farm output. Irrigation is an important component of agriculture. In most of the cases, conventional electricity or diesel-generated electricity is used by the farmers to run the motors and pumps manually, resulting in over irrigation and wastage of water. The use of conventional energy resources like petrol, diesel, coal is expensive and also creates air pollution and noise. Hence nowadays maximum research works are focusing on utilization of renewable energy resources, which is widely available, like solar energy. Solar-powered irrigation system is not only eco friendly but also economically a cheap process. This process minimizes the operation and maintenance cost, which is 2–4 times higher than a solar photovoltaic (PV) pump. In most of the developing countries, agriculture is solely dependent on rain water and thus poorly affected in the season of summer. In India there are also some of the places where water availability is very low which has detrimental effects on crop production. Hence nowadays wireless sensors were used to analyze the moisture level of the field and to automate the irrigation process. An automated irrigation system refers a system, with a minimum of manual requirement. All types of irrigation process like drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation or surface irrigation can be automated by using timers, sensors or computers or mechanical appliances. In this automated system, some standard data regarding the moisture level of a field is predefined for a specific crop. The sensor first transmits the data through a microcontroller to the server after a specific time interval. If the amount of moisture of the field is below the standard value of the database, the microcontroller will trigger the pump for watering the plants till the predefined moisture level. While the moisture level of the field reaches the threshold limit, the pump will automatically stop watering through microcontroller. The sensor analyzes the moisture level by monitoring the field in a specific time slot and store the data in database. Nowadays there are so many advancements taking place in sensing and communication technologies. Thus in today’s life solar-powered automated drip irrigation system can solve the problems of using conventional energy resources for running the irrigation system and also prevents the water wastage by continuous monitoring of the field.

This paper proposes a keypoint regressor (KeyReg), which consists of multi-layer random forest (M... more This paper proposes a keypoint regressor (KeyReg), which consists of multi-layer random forest (MRF) regressor and single random forest (SRF) classifier modules. To increase the keypoints' repeatability, the MRF regressor is applied to multi-scale images in a shared rules manner, and keypoints predicted at each scale are given a confidence score through the SRF for reliability measurement. Each candidate point is detected as the final keypoint through a non-maxima suppression process based on a confidence score. The MRF structure of KeyReg is designed to maintain a coarse-to-fine structure by varying the number of nodes per layer. In addition, the accuracy of the matching can be improved by removing less confidential keypoints through the continuous SRF classifier. KeyReg is the first approach to apply an MRF to the keypoint regression and is designed to run on a CPU rather than a GPU compared to DNN-based approaches. KeyReg training was conducted using COCO, and positive and negative examples were automatically obtained under a self-supervised learning method between the original image and a warped image. The proposed KeyReg showed superior performance in terms of repeatability, the accuracy of the homography, mean matching accuracy (MMA), and localization errors on HPatches dataset compared to state-of-the-art methods.

Among them is the development of smart agriculture (high-tech agriculture) and sustainable tourism development which is receiving much attention from the community. The pervasive and very timely nature of the 4.0 revolution has occupied a high proportion of conference forums from the government and scientists to the farmers in the remote areas to the key priority areas in economic development. The composition of industry 4.0 can be found, including 4 basic pillars: AI (artificial intelligence), Big Data (big data), IoT (Internet of Things), and Network and Cloud Infrastructure (Infrastructure Network and Cloud Computing). This paper focuses on providing technical solutions to Cloud Computing, specifically the technical solutions related to the cost of operating the entire smart agricultural economy 4.0. Cloud Computing, with a system of physical servers arranged on a global scale and interconnected through a telecommunications system, plays an increasingly important role in operating, delivering, and declaring resource extraction and sharing. By surveying existing and developing farms, it is observed that smart agricultural models of households need to apply high technology; providing resources for these models need technical solutions. Ensuring that it is accurate and timely, it is required to avoid overlapping and conflicting requirements from users, especially distant resources. It has been observed that a strong, reliable solution, as the basis for the development of control systems within the cloud, is not yet available.

The resources are provisioned when jobs arrive. The job scheduling and minimization of waiting time are the challenging issue in cloud computing. When a large number of jobs are requested, they have to wait for getting allocated to the servers which in turn may increase the queue length and also waiting time. This paper includes system design for implementation which is concerned with Johnson Scheduling Algorithm that provides the optimal sequence. With that sequence, service times can be obtained. The waiting time and queue length can be reduced using queuing model with multi-server and finite capacity which improves the job scheduling model.

With the increasing need of sensitive or secret data transmission through public network, securit... more With the increasing need of sensitive or secret data transmission through public network, security demands using cryptography and steganography are becoming a thirsty research area of last few years. These two techniques can be merged and provide better security which is nowadays extremely required. The proposed system provides a novel method of information security using the techniques of audio steganography combined with visual cryptography. In this system, we take a secret image and divide it into several subparts to make more than one incomprehensible sub-images using the method of visual cryptography. Each of the sub-images is then hidden within individual cover audio files using audio steganographic techniques. The cover audios are then sent to the required destinations where reverse steganography schemes are applied to them to get the incomprehensible component images back. At last, all the sub-images are superimposed to get the actual secret image. This method is very secure as it uses a two-step security mechanism to maintain secrecy. The possibility of interception is less in this technique because one must have each piece of correct sub-image to regenerate the actual secret image. Without superimposing every one of the sub-images meaningful secret images cannot be formed. Audio files are composed of densely packed bits. The high density of data in audio makes it hard for a listener to detect the manipulation due to the proposed time-domain audio steganographic method.

It continued next 40 years when the concept of personnel management evolved during 1940. The dogmatic ideals of mechanistic orientation have been transformed into organic value proposition as an extension of human relations approach augmented with neo-classical theory. All these modification and proliferations of theories have attempted to understand the individual behavior, group behavior and organizational behavioral context so that most effective and efficient human resource strategy could be adopted. Attempts were also manifested to make the system transparent, open and unbiased so that HRM strategy could be fueling the uninterrupted aspiration of each individual. 360 degree appraisal system is one of the important instances where HRM process is designed in a constructive ecosystem not intervening or interrupting instruments. The employee appraisal is the integral part of career management and the present set of appraisal system suffers from cross sectional and recorded data where the biases of superior may be inscribed. The IoT is the umbrella concept which could be used to make the system perfect. This paper would attempt to design and develop a schematic model for next generation human management system with IoT intervention where the employees could be judge and incentivized based on longitudinal data not on cross-sectional biased, sampled and skewed data. This holistic approach using HRM-IoT interface would be a strategic option for the future HRM practices and excellence in organizational performance.

An uncertainty analysis method for control room habitability under toxic gas leakage accidents in... more An uncertainty analysis method for control room habitability under toxic gas leakage accidents in cogeneration high temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) is proposed to support risk-informed design of the plant. The method is applied to representative toxic gas leakage accidents in a hydrogen production plant by thermochemical Iodine-Sulfur water splitting method coupled to the HTTR gas turbine test plant. Variable parameters are successfully selected for the inputs to uncertainty propagation analysis by sensitivity analysis. Epistemic and aleatory uncertainties for each variable parameter are identified and are propagated using Latin hypercube sampling. The analyses show that the suggested method can successfully characterize and quantify uncertainties in the toxic gas concentration in control room. One important finding is that impact of uncertainty in surface roughness height on toxic gas concentration in control room is significant. The uncertainty is due largely to the simplification of the modeling of obstacles that exists between the reactor building and hydrogen production plant. The results lead us to the conclusion that toxic gas dispersion behavior analysis should combine two evaluation methods: dense gas dispersion model and computational fluid dynamics simulation.

It is a business framework for delivering the services and computing power on-demand basis. Cloud users have to pay the service providers based on their usage. For enterprises, cloud computing is the worthy of consideration and they try to build business systems with lower costs, higher profits and quality-of-service. Considering cost optmization, service provider may initially try to use less number of CPU cores and data centers. For that reason, this paper deals with CloudSim simulation tool which has been utilized for evaluating the number of CPU cores and execution time. Minimization of waiting time is also a considerable issue. When a large number of jobs are requested, they have to wait for getting allocated to the servers which in turn may increase the queue length and also waiting time. This paper also deals with queuing model with multi-server and finite capacity to reduce the waiting time and queue length.
