The underlying concept, which is often referred to as biclustering, allows to identify sets of genes sharing compatible expression patterns across subsets of samples, and its usefulness has been demonstrated for different organisms and datasets. Several biclustering methods have been proposed in the literature; however, it is not clear how the different techniques compare with each other with respect to the biological relevance of the clusters as well as with other characteristics such as robustness and sensitivity to noise. Accordingly, no guidelines concerning the choice of the biclustering method are currently available. A Novel Approach for Semantic Service Discovery in Cloud Using Broker agents

With the growth of cloud computing, vast numbers of services have been deployed on cloud. While i... more With the growth of cloud computing, vast numbers of services have been deployed on cloud. While it provides more solutions to the cloud consumer, it is challenging to find the relevant or most appropriate cloud service. Even though the current search engines return results based on keyword search and page ranking, human intervention is required to select and find the best suited services from the large set of cloud services. Hence to overcome the limitations with the current search scenario, this paper proposes the cloud ontology technique to make discovery of cloud services efficient. It utilizes a multi broker agent based discovery system that consults ontology while retrieving information about services. This approach can be efficiently used to retrieve similar or related cloud services in the cloud computing environment.

Handling and analysis of microarray data is a most challenging task. The cluster analysis is one of the important high level analysis techniques, often exploited for microarray data analysis. As proteins usually related with different groups of proteins in order to handle diverse biological roles, the genes that create such proteins are thus expected to interact with more than one group of genes. This construes that in micro array gene expression data, a gene may make its presence in more than one cluster. The prior research has expressed the presence of genes in one or more clusters consistent with the nature of the gene and its attributes by the two dimensional clustering technique. The competence of the clustering analysis depends on the designing of an efficient (dis) similarity measure for grouping them. This research, has improved the prior cluster analysis research via an efficient hybrid distance based similarity measure. The proposed technique is implemented and its performance is evaluated with microarray gene expression data.

Itinerary planning is one of the important requirements for mobile agents in completing the given task efficiently. The static itinerary planning may not be the best approach in real network environments as the status of network components are subject to change dynamically. Dynamic itinerary planning makes the agent to change the itinerary dynamically according to the current state of network. For an information retrieval application, the main issue is to find an optimal itinerary for the mobile agent in order to achieve the efficient and effective data collection. Further, for a host to accommodate a remote agent, it must be ensured that the work load of the host is manageable. This paper provides an environment that selects the next optimal host for the mobile agent to visit by requesting the available directory services on the fly. For a host, to accommodate the incoming agents and to maintain work load, this paper provides a mechanism that either destroys the agents for which the task is completed or transferred to secondary memory if the mobile agent is waiting for an event to occur. The presented work is tested in a web environment and the results obtained are more encouraging in claiming that this work provides an efficient dynamic itinerary plan for the migration and sufficient space at the host for the execution.

Furthermore, in ad hoc environments, the service discovery process is enhanced by making use of semantic descriptions of services. Semantic-based user requests are used to carry out discovery process to satisfy the requester&#39;s service requirements. In this paper, we exploit the OWL-DL to describe services and the dynamic bloom filter (DBF) to improve the discovery process. The integration of the DBF and distributed service directories, and the utilization of the hybrid service matchmaking approach provide an adaptive, flexible and efficient discovery of services. Simulations were carried out to evaluate a DBF-based service discovery model in terms of the service discovery overhead, the Dynamic Bloom filter&#39;s efficiency, the network scalability, the service discovery success ratio and the average response time.

ABSTRACT Micro array technologies have become a widespread research technique for biomedical rese... more ABSTRACT Micro array technologies have become a widespread research technique for biomedical researchers to assess tens of thousands of gene expression values simultaneously in a single experiment. Micro array data analysis for biological discovery requires computational tools. In this research a novel two-dimensional hierarchical clustering is presented. From the review, it is evident that the previous research works have used clustering which have been applied in gene expression data to create only one cluster for a gene that leads to biological complexity. This is mainly because of the nature of proteins and their interactions. Since proteins normally interact with different groups of proteins in order to serve different biological roles, the genes that produce these proteins are therefore expected to co express with more than one group of genes. This constructs that in micro array gene expression data, a gene may makes its presence in more than one cluster. In this research, multi-level micro array clustering, performed in two dimensions by the proposed two-dimensional hierarchical clustering technique can be used to represent the existence of genes in one or more clusters consistent with the nature of the gene and its attributes and prevent biological complexities.

In web services the syntactic nature of the WSDL forced UDDI to feature only keyword-based matches that often leads to the discovery of more irrelevant services, which ultimately reduce the precision and recall of the search. Semantic web services had been proposed to overcome the issues such as interface heterogeneity and keyword-based syntactic search. The service discovery methods in semantic web services generally require a user query which is used to match the Inputs, Outputs, Precondition and Effect (IOPE) present in the service profile of the OWL-S. This type of matching restricts the users to use the queries that must be of the same context as that of the IOPEs present in the OWL-S. In this work a content-based semantic discovery architecture is proposed, in which the users can use their desired text document as input. The text document after passing through several refinement processes, the nouns are separated. This approach uses the WordNet lexical database, to find the meaning of the extracted nouns which are used for the discovery.

The use of complex algorithms and powerful fixed infrastructure is infeasible due to the volatile nature of mobile ad hoc environment and mobile devices. This paper presents a Secure and Lightweight Service discovery (SLSD) model for mobile ad hoc environment. SLSD model involves virtual dynamic backbone for mobile ad hoc networks, service registration, discovery, consistency maintenance of virtual backbone network, secure sharing of services with known and unknown devices based on trust. This model reduces control message overhead, achieves nominal battery power consumption, and minimizes the overhead of encrypting messages each time a device requests or provides services.

Users of the social network chat, discuss, entertain and watch personal contents in their favorite sites. Most of the users who use the social network are learners and they are very high in numbers. So, it will be an added advantage for the learners to learn from large community where the pool of content is available for learning. The content is available as a blog. Blogs are available in plenty. It becomes a tedious task for the learner to search and find the required content from the large collection of blogs. This work proposes a novel idea to use the social network for creation of blog content for group learning. It uses ontology for a specific subject to relate one blog with another blog. Blog posted for a particular title is related to the blogs of the same blogger or another blogger and it should be linked to the relevant blog. Blogger can also call for online discussion on a posted article which gives the clear picture about the understanding of the topic. Over and above the traditional learning system, a semantic blog based supportive learning system is introduced in this paper. The system yield high result if the user accepts the new learning method. High percentage of interest shown to discuss the topic and easy access and the availability of content is the added advantage.
