Data were collected from 264 SMEs operating in the Malaysian food supply chain using a questionnaire and analysed using Partial Least Square (PLS). The objectives of this study are as follows: 1) to investigate the awareness of CSR and the trends among local food SMEs, 2) to analyse the factors that motivate SMEs to implement CSR, and 3) to examine the moderating effect of marketing capability on the relationship between CSR practice and corporate reputation. As in complex healthcare environment leaders have to confront with contradictory behaviors. Therefore, the research study attempts to address question how exchange of knowledge amongst health professionals who are associated and working in teams enhances the team effectiveness under emotionally competent leadership. Considering the factor; that leader emotional intelligence is a critical proficiency which may influences sharing of knowledge in health care teams, in terms of final outcomes and effectiveness criteria. A cross-sectional study with structural modeling approach by using Smart PLS was employed to examine the mediating effect of knowledge sharing on relationship of leader emotional intelligence and team effectiveness Data were analyzed by means of a self-reported questionnaire from 225 health care professionals who were working with teams. The study findings indicated knowledge sharing within interprofessional health care teams is influenced by leader emotional intelligence. Furthermore, it was shown that leader emotional intelligence and knowledge sharing is positively related to team effectiveness. Mediation analysis revealed that knowledge sharing mediates the relationship between leader emotional intelligence and team effectiveness. In practice, the results of the study provide a valuable starting point for healthcare leadership to educate them on emotional competencies and encourage knowledge sharing as it deemed important for achieving effectiveness.

This paper seeks to examine the stipulation individuals' perceptions of organizational justice, o... more This paper seeks to examine the stipulation individuals' perceptions of organizational justice, organizational reputation, and its effects to organization attractiveness. A total of 327 accounting and finance interns were assumed the role of job seekers. We wanted participants to evaluate organizations in which they are currently undergoing internship to increase the likelihood that they had experience during the internship and knowledge gained about the organization; thus, held informed opinions about organizational justice and reputation, and its attractiveness as a job seeker. We found the organizational justice influences job seeker attraction to an organization, even more intriguing as the relationship associated with organizational reputation. Moreover, organizations have to pay more attention particularly to the informational justice and distribution justice as the most influential variables of organizational justice to organizational reputation, in turn affects job seeker attraction. This study also empirically recognized the notion of signaling theory incorporated with brand equity to publicize a deeper explanation of the job seeker attraction process. This is the first study to show that organizational justice is an instrumental characteristic, organizational reputation is a symbolic characteristic, understanding from signaling theory and brand-equity approach and, the combination plays a substantial role in job seeker attraction concept.

Based on the model of proactive motivation and self-determination theory, this study investigates the simultaneous impact of interpersonal leadership and learning goal orientation through the mediating role of employee engagement. The study sample (N =438) is collected from front line hospitality employees in Malaysia. Results of partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) show that both context (i.e., interpersonal leadership) and individual differences (i.e., Learning Goal Orientation) are significant predictors of employee engagement and, in turn, of proactive service performance. Moreover, engagement is found as a significant mediator between both the predictors and the criterion. However, some people feel unsuccessful in their career. Hence. the main purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating role of psychological capital (PsyCap) between protean career orientation (PCO) and career success. Further, this study is quantitative in nature based on primary data which were collected from full-time lecturers teaching in Sudanese public universities. Out of the 250 self-administrated questionnaires, 209 were returned for final analysis. The data obtained were analyzed by using the Smart-PLS 3.2.6 software techniques. Besides the context of this study, another uniqueness of this study was with the model in which career success was assessed as a formative construct. However, in the past studies, it was assessed as a reflective construct. The findings indicated that PsyCap was not only an important predictor of career success in the academic atmosphere, but it also played a positive mediator between PCO and career success. This study attempts to identify the antecedents of business success in the Malaysian perspective,... more This study attempts to identify the antecedents of business success in the Malaysian perspective, with particular reference to small businesses under the Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) scheme. Cross sectional data were collected from 199 small businesses operating under the (FELDA) scheme via questionnaire. The data collected were analysed using partial least square method. The empirical results indicated that only entrepreneurial competency and technology usage are related to successes of small businesses. However, this study found insufficient empirical evidence to support the relationship between marketing capability, financial resources, knowledge sharing, and business success. As this study was confined to the small businesses under the FELDA scheme, this provides valuable findings by uncovering the differences among the critical success factors due to the different reasons for formation of the small businesses. The insights gained from this study could facilitate industry practitioners to develop comprehensive business strategies and effective institutional policies to maintain the global competitiveness of small businesses under the FELDA scheme.

Predicting proactive service performance: The role of employee engagement and positive emotional labor among frontline hospitality employees

In the current study, based on the Self-determination Theory (SDT), we intend to contribute to this research by investigating whether employee engagement significantly plays the role of an intervening mechanism between employees' perceived interpersonal leadership of their supervisor and proactive service performance. Moreover, positive emotional labor (i.e., deep acting) is tested as a moderator to understand whether or not the strength of the relationship between employee engagement and employee proactivity is more for those who show more deep acting. Results of an online survey study among 438 frontline hospitality employees in Malaysia revealed that while employee engagement is a significant mediator in the relationship between interpersonal leadership and proactive service performance, positive emotional labor moderates the relationship between employee engagement and proactive service performance. In the race to gain profits, many corporations have neglected society and environmental issues, leading to failure in promoting sustainable development.Despite the growing importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) practice in the food supply chain, little work has been carried out to explain the insights of adopting such practice from the perspective of Islam. Objective: This study aims to investigate the Islamic parameters that are integrated in the CSR of a food supply chain. Results: The teaching of Islam in CSR go further than the minimum standards highlighted in the Western society. It appears to be wider in scope and has a clear codification defining what is permissible or 'halal' and what is forbidden or'haram'. Islam also has an explicit enforcement mechanism in the 'Shariah' as well as in community enforcement and the final sanction of the accountability of the individual for unethical behaviour on the Day of Judgement. Conclusion: This study offers a framework of CSR of food supply chains based on 'Shariah' principles, which is expected to fulfill the objective of addressing some of the shortcomings in both Western and Islamic literature of CSR

While corporate social responsibility (CSR) practice has long received considerable attention in ... more While corporate social responsibility (CSR) practice has long received considerable attention in the food and agricultural research arena, empirical studies on CSR practice of food companies involving small and medium enterprises (SME) are still scarce. Given the importance of CSR implementation among SMEs, there is a need for a study to show how CSR affects the corporate reputation of the companies. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the extent to which CSR practices are influenced by the level of organizational policy and managers' religiosity among local SMEs food operators and its impact on corporate reputation. This study employed a survey method, and the sampling frame for this study was drawn from the list of food manufacturers registered with the Small and Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC) in Malaysia. A total of 264 questionnaires were analyzed by using PLS-SEM. This study found that organizational policy and managers' religiosity had significant relationship with CSR practice. This research has important implications to regulators, listed firms, consumers, and capital market participants. Although it is much more complex to identify, investigate and communicate CSR in the small business, this area deserves more attention due to its potential impact on the global economy.

Studying workplace spirituality in academicians has a high value that definitely requires attention. This study attempts to explore association amongst transformational leadership and workplace spirituality of academicians through the lens of emotional intelligence in public sector universities of Pakistan. In this study, the hypothesized model was measured by using Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Squares. The response from 252 academicians specified that link between transformational leadership and workplace spirituality is statistically noteworthy where emotional intelligence plays a significant role as mediator. The findings enhance positive effects of transformational leadership style consistent with workplace spirituality contributing significantly to leadership literature in the higher education sector and suggest that institutions may implement practices that help in building the environment of workplace spirituality.

Based on a review of existing literature, this research conceptualized factors that positively impact and contribute to the MNCs and subsidiaries strategic development.
