The following literature review evaluates new research regarding the conversation around whether ... more The following literature review evaluates new research regarding the conversation around whether artificial intelligence (AI) is taking your job, and consolidates the outcomes of four contemporaneous studies. The literature reviewed shows that AI presents both possible displacement and enrichment. Traditionalists focus on ethical, emotional, or existential issues and carry fears about AI; others focus on a future where humans and intelligent systems work in the same environment by continuously reskilling and developing new response strategies to workforce changes. An important dichotomy has emerged on issues of AI and labor, further divided by "automation AI," which removes labor, and "augmentation AI," which enables labor, often culminating in differences in wages and polarization of labor. The literature suggests there is a reduced risk of displacement occurring for high-skilled workers with AI encompassing elements of enhancement, whereas low-skilled workers are most at risk of displacement. Notably, areas such as the human characteristics of trust, transparency, and dignity are also key drivers of how people respond to the integration of AI into their working lives. In conclusion, the literature does not represent an absolute replacement of human labor, but rather human-machine collaboration in the evolving world of work, given timely educational, policy, and organizational considerations. This study will support the existing body of literature and clarify contributory arguments for educators, policy-makers, and organizations considering navigating the uncertain future of jobs created by an AI paradigm.

The impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fundamentally altering the way we think about and a... more The impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is fundamentally altering the way we think about and approach aerospace engineering to sustainable solutions to existing paradigms within flight control systems, autonomous navigation, predictive maintenance, and space programs. This literature review pulls from recent academic literature to enumerate the distinguishing characteristics of AI applications in aerospace, their strengths, and disadvantages. It identifies operational example AI-based methodologies, including machine learning, neural networks, and deep reinforcement learning, and evaluates to what extent they contribute to operational efficiencies, operational safety, and collaborative processes in decision making. It considers elements of operational and software integrity; algorithm verification, security, integration of AIgenerated systems, and legacy aerospace systems as significant barriers. While there is great potential for AI innovations to increase the serviceability of aircraft, and better accuracy in missions, and marketing more reliable predictive maintenance, it presents unique technical and ethical challenges requiring considerable ongoing research, and requires new methods associated with AI development. The study is comprehensive and provides a general overview of emergent trends and recommendations for subsequent research to celebrate and embrace contributive AI and regulatory structures needed to assist and enable these processes within the aerospace industry.

The Use of Artificial Intelligence in SETI (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence): A Literature Review

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in Searches for Extrate... more The application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) in Searches for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) represents a significant shift in the way we search, analyze, and ultimately decode possible technosignatures from outside of Earth. This literature review provides a comprehensive overview of five seminal papers investigating the use case of narrow AI and generative models in SETI. Major findings encompass multiple leading-edge developments, including the use of deep learning models such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Conditional GANs for the simulation and discovery of narrow-band radio signals, the utilization of machine learning algorithms to distinguish signals from noise robustly, as well as the envisioning of AGI-fueled interstellar probes for autonomy in exploration and colonization. With technology such as Setigen, researchers can now generate causal synthetic data, facilitating the design and development of signal detection algorithms in environments with highly variable RFI. Ideological constructs, such as the "Matrioshka Brain" and whole-brain emulations, propose future scenarios in which AI could represent the signal or intelligence we are seeking. This literature review highlights the operational benefits provided by AI on current SETI methods, as well as the philosophical dilemmas of interacting with human-constructed extraterrestrial intelligence. Furthermore, the limitations of interpretability, overfitting, and computational processing are also discussed. Overall, AI offers transformative capabilities for SETI-not only in enhancing our current search methods but also in redefining our understanding of what constitutes intelligence and its potential manifestations in the universe.

This review aims to focus particularly on the architectural frameworks, adoption dynamics, and digital strategic significance of APIs as guidelines in tech strategies and initiatives. This review blends both qualitative and quantitative research to provide insight into the overarching concerns of efficiency, usability, security in the API development, RESTful API supremacy, the rising importance of GraphQL, and the hurdle of innovation sandbox APIs and innovation through third-party partnerships. An integrative overview documenting multiple industry use cases, like the orchestration of cloud services and integration of pharmacological data APIs, illustrates their multifunctional importance as digital transformation and business agility frameworks beyond their technological facets. Moreover, the paper examines the evolution of governance in API ecosystems, hinting at the fostered adaptive distributed service co-creation due to the loosely defined boundary interface design. The review also notes the significance of having APIs as the centerpiece of a firm's innovation strategy, as these frameworks enable a firm to design, innovate, and create without limitations through a well-defined technology strategy.

Terraforming Mars, an idea originating in planetary engineering, is built on the incorporation of... more Terraforming Mars, an idea originating in planetary engineering, is built on the incorporation of simulation-based analysis and robotic autonomy. This literature review has revealed examples of established advancements in multi-robotic systems, in-situ resource utilization (ISRU), and datadriven habitat-inhabiting as potential pillars for rendering Mars a habitable ecosystem. Three case studies of significance were presented: a collaboration between autonomous multirobot systems, the Design-to-Robotic-Production and Operation (D2RP&O) process of producing subsurface habitats using local regolith, and applications of legged robots in navigating granular and steep Martian surfaces. Within these realms of technology, the contribution of robotic autonomy could lead to enhanced operational efficiency, increased structural integrity, and improved environmental adaptability in the harsh conditions of the Martian landscape. It is important to note that even more complex processes now utilizing simulated models are allowing us to optimize energy utilization, project material handling, and environmental shielding with both architectural and mobility systems. The possibilities with robotics and modeling can expand our understanding and lay the groundwork for the diminishing logistical and physiological demands for human settlers on Mars, while potentially increasing the rate of large-scale colonization efforts. This review has demonstrated that integrated robotic systems and environmental modeling can represent the essential basis of long-term terraforming efforts.

Gamification has become a transformative instructional method designed to improve student engagem... more Gamification has become a transformative instructional method designed to improve student engagement in a variety of educational settings. This international literature review integrates findings from fifty peer-reviewed articles between 2015 and 2025, exclusively on the effects of gamification on student engagement in formal and informal learning spaces. A systematic search and screening process, guided by predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, was undertaken using major scholarly databases. The studies reviewed cover several regions, education levels, and disciplines, and involve gamification features including points, badges, leaderboards, challenges, and narrative storytelling. Thematic analysis revealed three main areas of impact: behavioral engagement, seen in greater participation and task completion rates; emotional engagement, comprising increased motivation, enjoyment, and positive attitudes towards learning; and cognitive engagement, marked by enhanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and knowledge retention. Although most studies reported positive effects, some also noted challenges, including novelty effects, overemphasis on competition, and differential impacts across learner groups. These findings highlight the potential of gamification to promote richer and more durable engagement when thoughtfully integrated into pedagogy and guided by theoretical frameworks like Self-Determination Theory and Flow Theory.

This literature review finds recent developments in satellitebased artificial intelligence (AI) relevant to climate-based dengue prediction, especially methodologies that incorporate meteorological remote-sensing data with machine learning and explainable AI. Studies identified and synthesized have focused on the predictive power of temperature, precipitation, humidity, and sunshine variables, mostly obtained from NASA and other satellite resources, in addition to procedures or techniques such as feature selection, stochastic processes for data down sampling, and the use of Shapley Additive explanations (SHAP) for improving accuracy and interpretability. While there are positive developments, challenges persist in generalizability of models, limitations to data availability, and using predictive systems in early warning prediction. This review provides insights into how satellitebased informed AI has the potential to revolutionize climate-vulnerable settings by enabling researchers to develop evidence-based, and proactive vector control strategies.

The Impact of Smartphone Use on Students' Academic Life: A Survey-Based Study

Smartphones have become ingrained in the lives of students, changing how they connect, learn, and... more Smartphones have become ingrained in the lives of students, changing how they connect, learn, and organize their academic responsibilities. This study looks at how smartphone usage influences academic focus for students in higher education. It considers both the potential that mobile technology presents as well as the distractions that come with student reliance on smartphones. Based on primary data collection using a structured questionnaire (n = 150) and a comparative overview of recent literature from India, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania, we subsequently employed quantitative analysis using the Likert scale, rank correlation, and percentage frequency distribution. The findings highlighted the dualistic nature of smartphones: they can be useful in education-letting students access digital learning materials and allowing students to connect to engage in educational projects, but excessive and unsupervised use is causing problems directly related to decreasing attention spans, procrastination, and cognitive overload. The most frequently accessed social media platforms, WhatsApp and Instagram, were negatively correlated with students' focused study habits and GPA. Additionally, significant variations were found in gender, age, and sleep. The overall conclusions include recommendations for the timetabled structures of digital hygiene, as well as institutional documents intended to ensure mobile technology contributes to educational practices aimed at limiting distraction while taking maximal advantage of the learning benefits of smartphones. These study results are paramount to recognize and consider as we live in a formative period of digital immersion outside of traditional learning systems.
