El trabajo fue desarrollado como una investigación no experimental de tipo aplicado y se guió por dos líneas de investigación, a saber, diseño de un modelo a partir de un conocimiento tecnológico para solucionar un problema real y simulación mediante software de alto nivel de programación para generar una aplicación novedosa. La importancia del modelo diseñado se fundamenta en que proporciona una herramienta al personal de mantenimiento para el conocimiento del proceso de control de espesor y tensión de banda mediante la simulación de estos complejos lazos de regulación. El objetivo de la presente investigación es proponer un modelo ontológico que sirva de apoyo a la... more El objetivo de la presente investigación es proponer un modelo ontológico que sirva de apoyo a la toma de decisiones en el proceso de selección de oportunidades de estudio del subsistema de educación superior (SES) venezolano. La problemática estriba en la complejidad que entraña la selección de una carrera universitaria, lo cual no es sencillo para los estudiantes, puesto que existe una multiplicidad de variables que es necesario evaluar. Para la declaración de tal modelo, se reusará la información suministrada por la Oficina de Planificación del Sector Universitario (OPSU) bajo el paradigma ontológico, para obtener un producto representativo del dominio; la ontología fue desarrollada usando Methontology y fue representada usando la herramienta Protégé 3.1.1., basada en el lenguaje ontológico para la web (OWL). En síntesis, con la implementación de la ontología será posible enriquecer el modelo existente (Libro de Oportunidades de Estudio, LOE), de manera tal que se pueda presentar información con mayor significado y más articulada a su contexto, con lo que se aspira ayudar al estudiante a decidirse por estudios que satisfagan sus expectativas, a elegir una opción óptima en cuanto a costo/beneficio, a evaluar requerimientos institucionales con su perfil de egreso de bachillerato, entre otras estimaciones que podrían considerarse.

Based in this proposal, the develop of a working prototype will be possible, using the Object Oriented Paradigm (OOP), following the methodological approach proposed by Rational Unified Process (RUP), by which is possible to develop software iteratively and incrementally, focusing on system architecture and Use Case driven, with preference for Business Modeling with the active participation of each of the stakeholders in the implementation.

A professional career selection is a complicated process for university student candidates and of... more A professional career selection is a complicated process for university student candidates and often little technical tolls are available for who aim to enter to the superior education system, since it is necessary to consider the incidence of a multiplicity of variables to obtain a "satisfactory answer" that comes near to the idea that they have preconceived. These variables build up a complex relations map that requires the formulation of an exhaustive and rigorous conceptual scheme. In this research a domain ontological model is presented as support to the student's decision making for opportunities of University studies level of the Venezuelan education system. For the declaration of the domain ontological model developed, the information provided by two organisms (OPSU & CNU) is used. Both are responsible to design the policies and strategies for the superior education in Venezuela. The ontology is designed and created using Methontology approach, since this methodology offers the possibility of improving the progressive creation or captures and knowledge articulation, its elements and relations. In order to represent the ontology Protégé 3.1.1 tool is used, based on the ontological language for the Web: OWL (Web Ontology Language) and; finally, to accede and to visualize the ontology, an application based on the Semantic Web is developed. In the field of the computation, computer science and systems, the concept of profiles or users models has many meanings and connotations, its first and greater diffusion arise with the development and use of on-line increasing systems; however, they have gain great preponderance recently, not only to refer and/or to respond to the passive user who approaches "the system", but for the possibility of taking care of a user stimulated and attracted by "the system". In that sense, the possibility of this "personalized attention" and/or recommendations from "the system" will be obviously conditioned by the user context. Centered on the possibility of giving that "customized attention" from which they must select an option between many, it is tried in the future to construct a meta-ontology that integrates the domain ontology with a user profile ontology, thus aiming towards to a Semantic Recommendation System under Multiagent approach in the future, that could be useful to support students decision making process for career selection over different study opportunities in Higher Education level in Venezuela.

Such project uses the newest technology of information methods based in the usage of a Web teaching server, and the development of self learning multimedia material.

Necesitan ser planificados coordinados y controlados. Se han desarrollado herramientas con esa finalidad, pero son insuficientes, y muchas veces dificiles de operar. Estos procesos son el corazon de las organizaciones. Muchas empresas, en la busqueda de mayos productividad y eficiencia que permite satisfacer las necesidades de sus clientes y donde se utiliza la calidad como un ventaja competitiva, recurren al uso de sistemas y herramientas de gestion de la calidad. En la presente investigacion, se ha desarrollado un Modelo Conceptual de Prototipo Evolutivo Sistemico de Calidad 00 (PESCA) integrandolo con la Metodologia QFD y aplicando Tecnicas de Control Estadistico. El diseno, desarrollo y sus correspondientes interfases con los ambientes operacionales estan explicados en otra publicacion (2). El prototipo es escalable y parametrizable. Indistintamente del proceso de produccion en el cual se aplique QFD, se puede configurar y obtener la funcionalidad del control de la calidad sobre ese proceso, sin modificar o crear un nuevo sistema, o si se modifica el proceso, el sistema de control de la calidad que lo controla solo necesitara nuevas parametrizaciones y no mantenimientos de desarrollo para la adecuacion necesaria.

The objective of this work is to design a maintenance model adapted to requirements and behaviors of the equipments under the new demands; all this will be supported by analysis of the situation before and after the REX. Nowadays, employment has a huge social importance. Current tools for facilitating job searches la... more Nowadays, employment has a huge social importance. Current tools for facilitating job searches lack in providing intelligent matching between employer advertisements and the curriculum vitae of the candidates. The objective of this research work was to develop an intelligent web portal to serve as service provider in recruitment tasks. This portal aims at helping people living in the region of the Southeast of Spain to find a job. For this purpose, the knowledge of the recruitment domain has been represented by means of ontology, which has been used to guide the design of the application and to supply the system with semantic capabilities. Furthermore, the ontological component allows for defining an ontology-guided search engine which provides more intelligent matches between job offers and candidates' curricula. Finally, this work covers the design of the ontology and the development of the web portal. Both issues are discussed and some validation results are presented.
