In societies where democracy has been adopted, election constitutes the main instrument of leadership selection. The significance of election has placed it at the center of all democratic activities. Its conduct, however, becomes meaningless and may result into human discomfort and misfortune of unconceivable scale where the rules of engagement are violated or completely discarded.
