Cultural Heritage Management (CHM) is the main vehicle for helping museums and Cultural Heritage ... more Cultural Heritage Management (CHM) is the main vehicle for helping museums and Cultural Heritage (CH) institutions to face challenges, be resilient to climate change, energy and cost of living crisis, natural hazards and pandemic risks, and ultimately to secure sustainable competitiveness. It can support them to manage change wisely, redefining themselves in a constantly changing world. This paper contributes to the understanding of how to establish a state-of-the-art management model for museums and CH institutions, which takes into account the latest developments in the field. It aims to a) bring forward the main issues and principles that need to be taken into account during the drafting procedure of a CHM plan, b) explore current state-of-affairs of professional practice in the CH sector across Europe, c) offer clear and concise information on the CH sector needs, challenges and bottlenecks, and d) eventually, provide practical recommendations that need to be taken into account so as to support communication between CH professionals and their various audiences, with a special focus on young people and local communities. This study is part of the research project "Redefining the future of cultural heritage, through a disruptive model of sustainability" (ReInHerit), which has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program (https://www.reinherit.eu/).

The first law which was enacted in the area of copyright, after the foundation of the modern Gree... more The first law which was enacted in the area of copyright, after the foundation of the modern Greek State in 1830, 1 was the Penal Law of 1834. This law provided for criminal sanctions against the illegal reprinting of printed works. 2 No provisions concerning moral rights were included. Act No. 3483 of 1909 was subsequently adopted, especially to protect copyright in dramatic works. Again, no provisions on moral rights were introduced. Act No. 2387 of 1920 was then enacted to provide the first complete protection of copyright. Although this Act did not deal with moral rights comprehensively, it introduced, for the first time in Greek law, the right of disclosure (Art. 1 of the Act), the right of paternity (Art. 13 of the Act), and the right of integrity (Art. 15 of the Act). This 1920 Act was amended many times up until 1944 and was supplemented by many further provisions on specific matters in separate laws even after that. The present Copyright Act came into effect on 2 March 1993, the date of its publication in the Official Gazette of the Greek Government and has been amended since then on several occasions.

Cultural Heritage Management (CHM) is a specialization, which helps museums, and Heritage institu... more Cultural Heritage Management (CHM) is a specialization, which helps museums, and Heritage institutions to face challenges, secure sustainable competitiveness, be resilient to climate change, natural hazards and pandemic risks, and redefine themselves in a constantly changing world. This paper explains how a state-ofthe-art management model can be established for museums and heritage institutions, taking into account the latest developments especially application of information technology. The authors discuss the main issues and principles to be considered while drafting procedure of a cultural heritage management plan, describes current status and practice in the cultural heritage sector, presents information on the current needs of the sector and the challenges and hindrances. Based on their study authors put forward some recommendations to support communication between Cultural Heritage Professionals and their various audiences. The study also stresses the need for use of tools and techniques provided by Informatics in cultural heritage management.
