The target of this study is to maximize the performance of SACS by defining the optimal insulation thickness for the cold room, which is the element where the products are stored to be cooled down. A mathematical model has been developed and tested with different kinds of materials. A 29% decrease in heat losses through walls is achieved by using 5 cm of polyurethane and 21% decrease is achieved by using 6 cm of polystyrene. The simulation was carried out using python. This research shows the validity of this model to reduce heat losses and the possibility to explore different materials in order to choose the best insulation thickness that helps to reduce heat transferred to the cold room.
