Although the working of the Constitution has come a long way since its commencement, the manifestations of gender inequality are seen in nearly all spheres of life. This can be well ascribed to the rigid attitudes, owing its roots in history and cultural. Present study is a comparative study examining the attitude towards “Right to Equal Opportunities” among male and females (N=58). Modernization Attitude Scale was administered over a sample of 58 males and 58 females from the rural region of Haryana. A significant t of 3.27 at .001 level is found showing that females are found with more inclination towards need for equal opportunities than men. This study assumes its significance in the direction of reducing gender gap and towards making an egalitarian society based on the principle of equality and justice and hence contributing towards the well being of all.

The diagnosis of LAST is purely clinical and its presentation is usually obscured in a sedated or anaesthetized patient. A 25-year-old male patient undergoing laparotomy for acute duodenal perforation under general anaesthesia developed seizures after epidural administration of 0.5% bupivacaine. All other possible causes of seizures were ruled out. Seizures were controlled with antiepileptic drugs and patient recovered fully after withholding LA administration. Although, lipid rescue is recommended for LAST, our patient was managed without its use. We, therefore, recommend that utmost care and vigilance should be exercised while using local anesthetics as there is no perfectly accurate method to rule out intravascular administration of LA. Even, if LA is correctly used, LA is detected in plasma due to its systemic absorption from i...

However, use of adrenaline has been associated with hemodynamic changes which can be life threatening at times. Therefore, use of higher concentrations of adrenaline should be avoided and a close hemodynamic monitoring is required with use of other vasopressors. In the present case report, a young male died because of intraventricular bleeding caused by adrenaline infiltration during rhinoplasty.

Metallic Systems Containing Crystal-Field-Split Impurities. Thermodynamic Properties in the Presence of Magnetic Field

Basically, the anomaly is attributed to the CEF splitting of the impurity level; the H dependence in the heat capacity is linear. Electronic susceptibility also exhibits an anomaly of the type 1n T. These results are found to be consistent with earlier work.Für ein Magnetfeld H wird in zweiter Ordnung die Möglichkeit eines anomalen Verhaltens verschiedener thermodynamischer Eigenschaften wie z.

The effect of exchange inelastic scattering on the thermo-electric power is studied in the limit ω, T ≪ δ. The most dominant term in Q is found to be of the type sech2 (δ/2T) T ln T.Die Selbstenergie in dritter Ordnung und die Thermospannung Q von Metallen, die magnetische Störstellen mit durch Kristallfeld aufgespaltene Energieniveaus enthalten, werden berechnet. Der Einfluß von inelastischer Austauschstreuung auf die Thermospannung wird für den Grenzfall ω, T ≪ δ berechnet. Der dominierende Term in Q ist von der Art sech2 (δ/2T) T ln T.

This program generated 47 transcriptomic and proteomic datasets from 30 studies that investigate in vivo and in vitro host responses to viral infections. Human pathogens in the Orthomyxoviridae and Coronaviridae families, especially pandemic H1N1 and avian H5N1 influenza A viruses and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV), were investigated. Study validation was demonstrated via experimental quality control measures and meta-analysis of independent experiments performed under similar conditions. Primary assay results are archived at the GEO and PeptideAtlas public repositories, while processed statistical results together with standardized metadata are publically available at the Influenza Research Database (www.fludb.org) and the Virus Pathogen Resource (www.viprbrc.org). By comparing data from mutant versus wild-type virus and host strains, RNA versus protein differential expression, and infection with genetically similar strains, these data can be used to further investigate genetic and physiological determinants of host responses to viral infection.

We report an unusual presentation of a sporadic intra-abdominal desmoid tumour, possibly arising ... more We report an unusual presentation of a sporadic intra-abdominal desmoid tumour, possibly arising from the diaphragm, masquerading as a hepatic mass in a young female without any history of surgery or trauma. Histopathology ruled out a hepatic origin of the tumour as was inferred from pre-and intraoperative evaluation. Immunohistochemistry showed positivity of lesional fibroblastic cells for β-catenin and negativity for CD34, CD117, EMA, SMA, desmin, vimentin, cytokeratin, and ALK1 thereby confirming the diagnosis of a desmoid tumour. There exist only a few reports in the literature on desmoids related to the diaphragm, but only one on a diaphragmatic desmoid that is possibly primary.

Though most patients present with obstructive or irritative urinary symptoms, dyspareunia may be an unusual presentation that should be kept in mind to avoid missing the diagnosis. Though MRI is considered to be the imaging modality of choice, cystourethroscopy with guided biopsy usually clinches the diagnosis. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice in this prognostically favourable tumour.

The experimental observation of multiferroic behavior in perovskite manganites with a spiral spin... more The experimental observation of multiferroic behavior in perovskite manganites with a spiral spin structure requires a clarification of the origin of these magnetic states and their relation to ferroelectricity. We show that spin-spiral phases with a diagonal wave vector and also an E-type phase exist for intermediate value of Hund's rule and the Jahn-Teller coupling in the orbitally ordered and insulating state of the standard two-band model Hamiltonian for manganites. Our results support the spin-current mechanism for ferroelectricity and present an alternative view to earlier conclusions where frustrating superexchange couplings were crucial to obtaining spin-spiral states.

WH-711). The OMEU prepared in granular form contained cow dung, rice bran (grain cover of Oryza sativa), neem (Azadirachta indica) leaves and clay soil (diameter of particles < 0.002 mm) in 1:1:1:1 ratios and saresh (plant gum of Acacia sp.) as binder entrapping half of the recommended dose of urea. A basal application of organic matrix entrapped urea showed increase in plant growth in terms of fresh and dry weights, root length, root number, leaf number, tillers, plant height earlet number, earlet length and productivity in terms of grain yield and straw yield over free form of urea (FU) and no fertilizer (NF) application. The OMEU increased total soluble proteins, organic N and free ammonium content in the leaves...

We solve the double exchange model in the presence of arbitrary substitutional disorder by using ... more We solve the double exchange model in the presence of arbitrary substitutional disorder by using a self consistently generated effective Hamiltonian for the spin degrees of freedom. The magnetic properties are studied through classical Monte Carlo while the effective exchange, Dij , are calculated by solving the disordered fermion problem, and renormalised self-consistently with increasing temperature. We present exact results on the conductivity, magnetoresistance, optical response and 'real space' structure of the inhomogeneous ferromagnetic state, and compare our results with charge dynamics in disordered La1−xSrxMnO3. The large sizes, O(10 3 ), accessible within our method allows a complete, controlled calculation on the disordered strongly interacting problem.
