Recreational facility of flower garden is a public facility to get recreation at flower garden wh... more Recreational facility of flower garden is a public facility to get recreation at flower garden which is designed at Jalan Ahmad Yani, Peguyangan, Denpasar, Bali. This facility is needed as a recreational facility for urban community and has an ecology, social as well as aesthetic function. The recreational facilities included inside among others are: lob-by, food court, souvenir shop, children playground, seeding house, view tower, staging area, seating area, ornamental pond, flower garden display, and the sign of Balinese Flower Garden as a spot for photography. The facilities were de-signed with green architecture approach, by maximizing the opening either from the roof, window and ventilation as well as half open building, and the waste processing which was environmental friendly.

Ubud is a destination for nature, rural and culture-based tourism, where many locally inspired ar... more Ubud is a destination for nature, rural and culture-based tourism, where many locally inspired architectural designs for tourist accommodations are found. Cocoa Ubud is for instance owes its architectural existence to a Grya Joglo, a Javanese traditional home. The purpose of this study is to analyze the background of selecting this home as the main architectural form of the Cocoa Ubud, how the joglo has been transformed into accommodation for tourists, and how the community responds to the whole process. This research uses a case study combined with field observations and interviews as methods for data collection. This study finds that the main reason for choosing the grya joglo is due to its classic, nice and likable shape. Accommodation of the architecture of the grya joglo includes the transformation of functions and physical forms as well as adding local decorative elements, such as those used in Balinese traditional homes. In terms of the community's perception towards the design of Cocoa Ubud, Griya Joglo is welcomed as an accommodated architectural style in the area, especially when it is done in combination with Balinese architectural elements.

Human resources (HR) is one of the resources - assets and capital function in maintaining the con... more Human resources (HR) is one of the resources - assets and capital function in maintaining the continuity of Balinese traditional architecture (ATB) to realize the existence of the ATB.The ability of ATB workers tend to be degraded to sustain ATB.Workers tend to follow the wishes of the buyer, which emphasizes on the principles of aesthetics. With these capabilities, the produced in the form of architecture with ‘ornamented structure’which do not apply the principles of earthquake-resistant architecture. Upgrading of workers is an act of preservation of cultural values, consistently through Udayana Dedicate Grant - Udayana University. Upgrading ATB workers in Bedha Pakraman Village done through a workshop- training of workers ATB for improve understanding the principles of earthquake resistance on ATB. Furthermore, by way of word of mouth conducted by ATB workers, is expected not long after there will be an increase in the entire HR worker ATB in the village of Bedha Pakaraman. Outcomes of this upgrading are ATB workers who can produce sketch of parts of the structure of the ATB that resistant to earthquakes.

Majority of the Banjar Umacandi community converted their religion from Hinduism into Christianity due to health, economic, educational and environmental factors. The religion conversion have resulted in the changing of layout of the Balinese traditional houses. Some buildings which are commonly found in the Balinese Hindu traditional houses are not finding in the Balinese Christian homes. Dalam pola desa adat di Bali, pemakaman terletak pada area profan yang berfungsi sebagai tempat upacara penguburan dan ngaben (kremasi). Masyarakat Hindu Bali terikat dengan adat istiadatnya dan juga termasuk dalam sistem penguburan dan kremasi. Pemakaman Bali memegang peranan penting di dalam mengikat warganya untuk menjalankan kewajibannya sebagai masyarakat adat dan memiliki hak untuk menggunakan pemakaman. Seiring dengan perkembangan globalisasi, cara-cara pemakaman mulai bergeser, dari cara-cara tradisional menjadi cara-cara yang lebih praktis. Saat ini telah mulai bermunculan wadah-wadah yang menawarkan kremasi yang sederhana tanpa banyak melibatkan masyarakat adat. Ini merupakan tantangan di dalam keberlanjutan adat istiadat yang telah diwariskan turun temurun. Melalui observasi dan wawancara, penelitian kualitatif ini menggali makna dan peranan pemakaman Bali di desa-desa tradisional Bali Aga khususnya di Desa Trunyan dan Desa Buahan di dalam implikasinya pada lansekap budaya serta untuk melestarikan adat istiadat yang dijwai oleh konsep Tri Hita Karana. Walupun berhadapan dengan tantangan, pemakaman Bali masih tetap merupakan zona penting di dalam pola desa dan lansekap budaya Bali.

The purpose of this research was to determine the right conservation strategy in Puri Kanginan Buleleng. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The results from this research is the identification of significant values can be classified into three main parts, namely emotional values, cultural values and usability values. These values help set priorities in conservation actions, and determine the level and nature of each action. Preservation actions are chosen according to the physical condition of the building / historic site, current needs and attention to conservation ethics. The resulting conservation strategies are preservation and restoration efforts.

This paper attempts to investigate and analyze the morphological typology and origins of the Hind... more This paper attempts to investigate and analyze the morphological typology and origins of the Hindu-Buddhist candis which were built from 8 th to 17 th centuries in the island of Bali. Mainly, the discussion will be focused on its characteristics analysis and morphology in order to determine the candi typology in its successive historical period, and the origin will be decided by tracing and comparative study to the other candis that are located across over the island and country as well. As a result, 2 groups which consist of 6 types of `Classical Period` and 1 type as a transition type to `Later Balinese Period`. Then, the Balinese candis can also be categorized into the `Main Type Group` which consists of 3 types, such as Stupa, Prasada, Meru and the `Complementary Type Group` can be divided into 4 types, like Petirthan, Gua, ������ and Gapura. Each type might be divided into 1, 2 or 3 sub-types within its architectural variations. Finally, it is not only the similarities of their candi characteristics and typology can be found but also there were some influences on the development of candis in the Bali Island that originally came from Central and East Java.

To overcome this, there are several factors that influence it, including social, culture, environmental and climatic. Social conditions are an operational management in terms of quality and quantity. In terms of socio-cultural factors based on the Hindu religion that grows and develops in the community of Tabanan Regency. From an environment and climate, the planned building can adapt to the local climate and environment. In the sense that it does not damage the environment and can take advantage of the potential of the existing climate and environment so that it can maintain sustainability and harmony with its surroundings. n terms of these factors, interlocking space is an architecture that puts forward the maximum visual communication relationship function. Where the potential exists in the area with supporting facilities in the terminal needed to add public and supporting facilities, as well as providing convenience for visitors by rearranging circulation, zoning and vegation in order to support terminal facilities and support the terminal as a transportation attraction in Tabanan Regency. This paper used combination of design methods and research methods in the collection and processing of data related to the design.
