RESUMEN: Los sistemas de prototipado rápido son ampliamente usados en el desarrollo de productos ... more RESUMEN: Los sistemas de prototipado rápido son ampliamente usados en el desarrollo de productos en diferentes industrias, ya que permite configurar prototipos iniciales, probarlos bajo condiciones reales y optimizarlos con efectividad en tiempo y costo, sin mayor desarrollo de hardware. Con el concepto de Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), se pueden emular condiciones de operación de un sistema real, llevándolo a un modelo matemático embebido en un sistema electrónico. Este trabajo muestra la implementación de una planta térmica en una FPGA que emula el comportamiento real y permite evaluar los alcances y beneficios de la técnica HIL. Por otro lado, se diseñó un controlador tipo PID en el software LabView®, que reguló la dinámica de la planta embebida usando comunicación serial. Se hizo una comparación entre el experimento y una simulación en Matlab® Simulink para validar el desempeño del sistema con los parámetros de diseño.

In this work, a mathematical model was developed to describe this behavior, always working in the linear region of the process of dehydration. The model proposed was implemented in MATLAB software with the Simulink tool and evaluated with a simulation CFD in SolidWorks. The behavior of the analytical model compared with the CFD simulation, showed a high variation for the values of final moisture in the food. This is due to the initial restrictions made for the model, especially, assume that the temperature inside the chamber is homogeneous. The model allows to vary all the features of the system and identify the behavior during the process.

Hoists are systems used for handling loads in the industry, commonly used in overhead cranes in m... more Hoists are systems used for handling loads in the industry, commonly used in overhead cranes in many operations such as transporting materials. The complexity of these will depend on the loads that will be mobilized. In this document is presented the design of a hoist and the load-position controller, comparing the response of the system to state feedback controller and PID controller. For this, a two-pulley system drive by a DC motor was designed, which is modeled separately and through some transformations obtain a transfer function. Base on this transfer function, a state feedback controller was designed and compared to a PID controller. The two controls are both designed and simulated under the same parameters, the results illustrate a similar behavior with de two controllers, but one of them is the one that best adapts to this type of systems, avoiding unwanted behavior on the load.

One way that can be taken is through land expansion. In Indonesia, coastal sand land is a potential land for the development of crop cultivation, especially shallots. To improve the quality of coastal sand land as a planting medium, cow manure is used as soil ameliorant organic matter. Trichoderma asperellum, one of the plant growth promoting fungi (PGPF), is used to increase plant growth This experiment aims to study physiological characters, growth and yield of several shallots cultivars planted in coastal sand, with inoculation of Trichoderma asperellum and the addition of organic material in the form of cow manure, so that cultivars can be determined which have good growth and yield. This research was carried out on the beach sand in Samas area, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta, starting November 2017 to January 2018. This field experiment consisting of two factors and arranged in a completely randomized block design with three replications. The first factor is shallots cultivar which consists of four cultivars, namely: Bauji, Tajuk, Manjoung, and Bima Brebes. The second factor is the dose of organic matter in the form of cow manure: (0, 10, 20 and 30)ton/ha. Data from observations were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan's multiple range test. Various cultivars tested have a various of total chlorophyll content in leaves, plant height, total dry weight/plant and the dry weight of air-dried bulbs/ha, but it does not have a number of leaves that is significantly different. The application of cow manure with a dose of 10, 20, 30 tons/ha does not produce a total chlorophyll content in leaves, number of leaves and total dry weight/plant that are significantly different from without fertilization, but it produces a variety of plant height and the dry weight of air-dried bulbs/ha. From this study it can be concluded that from various cultivars tested, showed a significant difference in total chlorophyll levels, plant height, total dry weight per plant and weight of air-dried bulbs per hectare. Bima Brebes cultivar has the heaviest weight of air-dried bulbs per hectare. The dose of fertilizer 30 tons per hectare yield the heaviest weight of air-dried bulbs, although not significantly different from the dose of 20 tons per hectare.

Phenomena such as radiation, convection, and conduction are highly studied, from the field of materials to the field of infrastructure, finding day to day optimal solutions that guarantee a great use of the solar resource available on the earth's surface. This study presented the results of heat transfer analysis on a receiver pipe in a CCP; designed using the theory of branched fractal geometry to improve the heat transfer associated with concentrating solar capture systems. A fractal structure as a branch or arboreal fractal type network, influenced thermal and electrical parameters, as electrical resistance, thermal resistance, and convective heat transfer, so increasing the level branch heat transfer can be enhancement along of the pipe. The use of renewable energies in agriculture benefits the industrial processes that require a continuous power system, due to climatic conditions and geographical location is not a guarantee in food production fields, which reason solar capture systems contribute to food dehydration processes, water heating, refrigeration, and energy production.

It is vital then, to know the degree of toxicity of each of these chemicals in order to properly regulate its application and sensitize the population at risk. Therefore, this paper shows the results of an algorithm with the ability to predict the effects on the reproductive system in Sprague Dawley rats, caused by the intake of food exposed with Fenthion. The original data were processed using the Naïve Bayes classifier, then optimized using genetic algorithms. It is concluded that the prediction algorithm does the job properly, processing qualitative information with relatively low computational cost, which allows its easy portability to different development platforms.

En este artículo se presenta un sistema para la detección de estados de distracción en conductore... more En este artículo se presenta un sistema para la detección de estados de distracción en conductores de vehículos en horas diurnas mediante técnicas de visión de máquina, el cual se basa en la segmentación de la imagen respecto a los ojos y la boca de una persona, vista de frente por una cámara. De dicha segmentación se establece los estados de movimiento que de la boca y de la cabeza, permiten inferir un estado de distracción. Las imágenes se extraen de videos de corta duración y con una resolución de 640x480 píxeles, sobre las cuales se emplean técnicas de procesamiento de imagen como transformación de espacios de color y análisis de histograma. La decisión del estado es el resultado de una combinación de las características extraídas ingresadas a una red neuronal del tipo perceptrón multicapa. El desempeño logrado en la detección en un ambiente controlado de pruebas es del 90% y del 86% en ambiente real, con un tiempo de respuesta promedio de 30 ms.

The feature extraction process is the fundamental stage in the development of speech processing s... more The feature extraction process is the fundamental stage in the development of speech processing systems. In this paper is described the methodology and implementation of an embedded algorithm for extracting characteristic information from silent speech signals. The classical approach based on frequency representations of the signals is followed as methodology for this work. First, the acquisition stage of the silent speech signals is performed using a Non-Audible Murmur microphone and the STM32F4Discovery evaluation board. Then, the digitalized signal is filtered, segmented and normalized using the pre-emphasis and windowing steps. The magnitude spectrogram is calculated from the pre-processed signal using the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), to finally estimate characteristic data from de silent speech signal. As result of this process, the signal characteristic parameters, defined in the frequency domain are obtained and used as elements at later stages of pattern recognition, in order to build systems of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR), Speech Coding, Speaker Recognition, among other applications.

A new algorithm, implemented in this investigation, allows to estimate by means of a non-destructive method, the leaf coverage value of strawberry plants (fragaria x ananassa) of the cultivar Albion in the Cajicá region, Colombia, by using digital image processing techniques ( DPI). The DPI based technique includes the smoothing, dilatation, contour detection, threshold and edges detection operations. The image acquisition system was conducted by means of photographic images in plants in study, directly from the beds of the crop and the captures were subsequently processed through the proposed algorithm. The obtained results show the measured values of the plants leaf coverage in cm2, with up to 90% of accuracy. The analysis of residues requires, different equipment and software for the study, characterization, identification and quantification of these chemicals. However not always the desired parameters according to the method implemented are obtained, so the estimation of these is an optimal solution, considering the short runtime. Parameter estimation, is a tool used heavily in different fields and applications, in order to obtain, an unknown value from variables related. Estimating pesticide retention times Carbamates, by a trained neural network by the method of particle swarm, is presented in this work. The data for network training were acquired through a study of levels of pesticide residues present in samples of kidney tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum).
