Prof.(Dr.) Chetan Trivedi, Former Vice-Chancellor & Professor of English at Bhkata Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh. He has successfully performed his duties as a Member - Board of Governanace (BoG), Member - Board of Management (BoM), Member - Executive Council (EC), Memebr - Accedemic Council (AC) and Chairman - Board of Studies (English) and Member -IQAC at Bhkata Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh prior to be In Charge Vice Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of Bhakta Kavi Narsinh Mehta University, Junagadh (Sate University).
He has 27 years of teaching experience in Arts, Commerce, Science, Management and Engineering faculties at UG and PG level. He has successfully guided more than 25 students for the degree of M.Phil and Ph.D. He is also a creative writer and his poems and research articles have found a home in many academic journals of repute. He has authored 10 Books, published 50 Research Papers in reputed journals, presented 100 research papers and articles in various International and National Seminars/Conferences. He has also completed funded projects and filed a Patent on Artificial Intelligence Based Vocabulary Acquiring Apparatus. He has delivered lectures as a keynote speaker and resource person at various Seminars/Conferences/workshops and reputed institutes.
His core areas of critical concern are Gandhian thought and philosophy, Indian English Literature, and the folk-arts of Gujarat. As a person in search of the latest tools for the dissemination of knowledge he is presently involved actively in the study of the use of ICT in teaching-learning pedagogy.
He has been the part of various committees of UGC, AICTE, AIU, NBA, NAAC and Search Committee for Vice Chancellors of various Universities. He has also the recipient of Young Leadership Award and Best Practices Award.

This paper reads Bill Aitken's Himalayan travelogues Footloose in the Himalaya and Touching Upon ... more This paper reads Bill Aitken's Himalayan travelogues Footloose in the Himalaya and Touching Upon the Himalaya as ethnographic texts that render mountains not as mere geology or summits to be "conquered," but as lived cultural worlds. Expanding upon Clifford Geertz's concept of "thick description" and Paul Fussell's exploration of reflective travel writing, the analysis illustrates how Aitken redefines the Himalayas as symbols rich in social significance (as opposed to mere achievements of "verticality"), critiques summit-centric narratives that overlook the inhabitants of the lower ranges, and emphasizes everyday village life as a place where terrain and culture profoundly influence each other. His pages consistently convert sensory experiences auditory sounds, peace, routes, and sacred sites into cultural interpretation, transforming walking into a form of participant observation. Aitken integrates outer perspective with insider immersion, a position rooted in his extensive residency in the region and enduring involvement with Himalayan communities. The paper contends that Aitken's work exhibits the capacity of travel writing to serve as ethnography by documenting practices, conserving mythic geographies, and expressing an ethic of humility towards powerful landscapes. This research paper explores the transformation and representation of female characters in Vikram... more This research paper explores the transformation and representation of female characters in Vikram Chandra's novel Sacred Games (2006) and its Netflix adaptation. Through a close textual and visual analysis, the paper examines how females are portrayed within the socio-cultural contexts of both the novel and the global OTT platform. It highlights the tension between local identities and global storytelling frameworks, arguing that the Netflix adaptation recasts Indian women to resonate with international audiences, sometimes at the cost of cultural specificity. The paper critically engages with this tension, suggesting that such cinematic recasting can obscure the socio-cultural intricacies embedded in the source material. This paper investigates the representation of female characters in Vikram Chandra's novel Sacred Games (2006) and analyzes how these portrayals are transformed in the Netflix adaptation. The study highlights how the women characters reflect facets of 'Indianness' through their cultural, social, and gendered identities. By comparing the novel and its screen adaptation, this paper examines what is retained, altered, or omitted and how these choices affect the narrative of Indianness on global media.

Indian English short- stories to critically analyze the strategies and com
plexities involved in the process of adapting short-stories as OTT web se
ries. An OTT platform can be defined as “an online service that can be
regarded as potentially substituting for traditional telecommunications
and audio-visual services such as voice telephony, SMS, video on de
mand and television” (“ITU” 4). Film adaptations of literary texts have
a long and rich history. In an adaptation, a literary work such as a novel,
a play, a short-story or a poem is transferred into a new medium, such
as a painting, a movie, etc. It is a kind of a translation of a literary work.
The recreation of any work has the same idea but presented differently
in another form. i.e. media. Film adaptation theory is the study of how
works of literature and other forms of storytelling are translated into film.
The process of adapting a story from one medium to another is complex
and can involve many changes to the original source material. Similarly,
these adaptations of short-stories rework the stories and the narratives
of selected Indian English fiction. Thus, this research paper examines the
paradoxical relationship between an adaptation and its source material.

Apart from the readily apparent intertextual indebtedness of Hancock’s film to David Fincher’s classic neo-noir crime thriller Se7en (1995), a critical and comparative study of similarities and differences between the two films makes it apparent that while both dismantle the notion of individual moral infallibility even if the person happens to be a law enforcement official, Hancock’s film not only creates an equally morally complex world but one which explores additional themes of individual guilt, complicity, and cover-up; uncertainty or ambiguity that prevents mental peace and closure; the possibility, justification, and reasonableness of turning saviour for a member of the police force who ends up committing a crime due to an error of judgement or after being provoked by the suspected criminal; the degree to which the personal lives of police officers investigating gruesome crimes such as serial killings could be adversely affected; the error of assuming guilt based on past misdemeanours and unintended consequences of police interrogation; and law enforcement officials overreaching their powers while acting upon their conviction or hunch, desperately wanting facts to conform to their theories. Moreover, the ending of The Little Things can arguably be said to be more ambiguous, disturbing, shocking, and unsettling compared to that of Se7en on the one hand yet more humane on the other which enables the film to have a distinct pride of place within the noir-crime genre.

The present article argues that Robert Frost’s poem “For Once, Then, Something” (1923) anticipate... more The present article argues that Robert Frost’s poem “For Once, Then, Something” (1923) anticipates, by virtue of its latent similarities to them, the theory of Deconstruction propounded by Jacques Derrida, and Reader-Response Criticism which developed through the work of a number of important theorists, one of them being Stanley Fish. The validity of the interpretation is tested by juxtaposing it, in brief, on Charlotte Brontë’s novel Jane Eyre (1847) and Jean Rhys’ Wide Sargasso Sea (1966), a postcolonial, Feminist re-reading or re-writing of Brontë’s work, especially one of literature’s great enigmatic figure – Bertha Antoinetta Rochester/Mason – and one of the novel’s central character – Edward Fairfax Rochester. Indeed, Bertha had been readily interpreted by many lay readers as an obstacle, if not an outright antagonist, in the union of Jane and Edward before the publication of Rhys’ insightful novel that is a prequel to or provides the backstory of crucial characters and events found in Brontë’s work. Moreover, the researchers also launch an enquiry that seeks to understand whether Rochester has been disproportionately or undeservedly demonized, at least since the publication of Rhys’ novel. This inquiry, which stems from both the insight provided by the reading of Frost’s poem and a position put forward by Fish, (re)reads Brontë’s text to see if it provides any clue, opening, or hint for an alternative response by which Rochester can be rescued from critical opprobrium he is often subjected to, whether before or after the publication of Wide Sargasso Sea.

Apart from inclusivity as a virtue of cosmopolitanism, albeit exclusion, or involuntary acculturation are merely pretended rarity or repression engraved. Now, in this context, if assimilation is the most suitable method of survival to avoid irreconcilable alienation, then failure to do so suggests nothing worse but imminent tragedy. Such a tragic story is my case in point-Baumgartner's Bombay (1988) by Anita Desai. Few issues this text instigates to probe into are: (1) the agencies or factors dissent to which brought a tragic destiny to Baumgartner? (2) major obstacles to conform to assimilation. And finally, (3) the conceptual inadequacy to designate the experience of Baumgartner as Diasporic exile, or dystopian expatriation; or a fated wandering Jew succumbing to stereotypical callous anonymity; or something else altogether?
