Retired medical practitioner now living in France. Honorary Fellow of The Heraldry Society and Editor-emeritus of "The Heraldry Gazette." For his long period in office in charge of the heraldry section he was made an honorary life-member of the Birmingham & Midland Society for Genealogy & Heraldry (BMSGH).
He is a prolific author and compiled the Heraldic Guide to Baddesley Clinton in Warwickshire for the National Trust. In addition he has written about Heraldic Artists and completed the --part series of Armorial Bookplates - a 7th is in preparation.
He has recently published the 600+ page Armorial of the Members of the Military & Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem.

For this reason it is reserved for cases in which the disease appears to be unilateral and the hearing on the affected side is seriously impaired and, as a rule, distorted. Such distortion is a characteristic and common feature of the deafness in Mdniere's disease; it is particularly noticeable for musical and high-,itched sounds, and when present adds to the distress of the disease. I have found that the loss of a distorted remnant of hearing in one ear, far from diminishing the general capacity for hearing, often leads a patient after an operation to say that his hearing is better because once again he can enjoy listening to music, and loud sounds no longer distress him. Thus whilst it is often true to say that the hearing capacity of patients subjected to my operation is altered, sometimes for the better, I would like to make it quite clear that the hearing in the operated ear is always lost, though for reasons already given such a loss often proves to be a gain.-I am, etc., London, W. 1. It is this conclusion which is at variance with the advice given to the Panel by the Medical Research Council. It appears that there is no divergence between the Panel and the Medical Research Council on matters of fact. In the opinion of the Council, however, flour of 80% extraction should be retained because of its superiority in nutrients other than the three token vitamins. These nutrients include protein, riboflavine, biotin, pyridoxine, and folic acid. According to the Council's evidence: "A reduction in the extraction rate of flour affects the levels not only of vitamin B1, riboflavine, nicotinic acid, and iron, but also of a number of other nutrients which are present in wheat but about which less is known."
