This is an approach that responds to the challenge of enabling the development of people who can cope with a rapidly changing world. Heutagogical approaches to education place great emphasis upon holism, self, capability, community, needs of society, and a focus on learning as opposed to teaching. Learners are highly autonomous and self-determined, and emphasis is placed on the development of learner capacity and capability with the goal of producing learners who are well-prepared for the complexities of today’s circumstances. A qualitative approach that dwelled into focus group interviews is used to arrive at the proposition. This paper describes the validation process of an instrument to measure reading anxiety among the English as a Foreign Language Learners (EFL). This instrument is adopted and adapted from English Language Foreign Language Anxiety Instrument (ELFRAI) developed by Masoud Zoghi (2012). However, some of the items in ELFRAI were reconstructed to reduce ambiguity. It is a nonverbal self-reported instrument measures to measure English Language reading anxiety. The instrument is structured into two parts namely demography and causes of reading anxiety and contains 8 items and 27 items respectively. To identify reading anxiety among EFL learners, a total of 366 responses at two states private universities colleges located in Malaysia were analysed. This study adopts the quantitative approach as its research methodology. It uses SPSS version 22 to analyse the findings gathered. The results of the study depicts a reliability Cronbach's Alpha 0.927, hence it supports the validity of the instrument

September 2015, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) has introduced Critical and Creative Thinking under Malaysia Massive Open Online Course. The study has focused on engineering undergraduates’ perception of MOOC in Critical and Creative Thinking (CCT) course in elevating their employability skills. The researchers used qualitative method as a research design. An interview was used to investigate their perception of MOOC in CCT course to elevate their employability skills. Undergraduates in from three faculties in UTeM were selected as the participants of this study. The findings show that among all the employability skills, participants believe CCT MOOC fosters two employability skills which are ‘problem solving’ and ‘decision making’. Investigations into the phenomena of environmental communication (EC) using online advocacy are increasingly trans-disciplinary endeavors. My research question focused on how the websites design of the environmental NGOs in Malaysia (ENGOM) can effectively support the sustainability development in Malaysia. The result shows that the majority of the ENGOM websites met the ‘well designed’ requirements. The outcome of this study can especially helps environmental organisations develop the Internet and the web strategies which take into account the issues examined herein, in order to best utilise this medium for their purposes. The usability test was suggested to evaluate the user’s point of view regarding what constitutes an effective and well designed environmental website. Quantitative data were collected through administering a questionnaire to determine the levels of anxiety reported by the student teachers. The findings to be discussed are part of a much larger study. A total of 100 IEST took part in the study. The ELST were enrolled in four-year teacher education programs at Faculty of Education in KUIS. Student teachers participating in the study were given an adopted EFLRAI questionnaire containing of 19 items and a four-point Likert- five-point Likert to be completed. The questionnaire aims to elicit the reading and to determine reading anxiety. Respondents were requested to grade each item on the Likert scale according to their personal opinions. The objective of this paper was to investigate how a website utilized photographs as powerful too... more The objective of this paper was to investigate how a website utilized photographs as powerful tools to convey orangutan campaigns and potentially persuade people to take action. A content analysis was employed to analyze World Wild Fund Malaysia (WWFM) website as it is the only environmental NGOs that advocate "Save Orangutan" online campaigns in Malaysia. The results indicated that WWFM utilised the photographs well for conveying "Save Orangutan" campaigns on its website. With its mission "paving the way towards a future where humans live in harmony with nature", it also focuses on wild life issues. The photographs have enticed individuals and organizations to form a strong alliance in order to instill awareness among Malaysians in the preservation of Malaysian resources. This study is beneficial for environmental organizations in planning strategies for a more persuasive campaign. Future research should focus on rhetoric elements of photographs and their perpetual potentials.

The video clips are selected based on its appropriateness to improve teaching and learning purposes which include the technical qualities, contents, learners' attitude and readiness and learners' engagement. These video clips were disseminated and viewed by 30 participants who registered for negotiation skills course at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). A semi-structured interview was conducted to retrieve participant's views on four themes specifically the technical qualities, contents, learners' attitude and readiness and learners' engagement. The result indicates that participants have strong inclination to the integration of YouTube in their lesson as it enhances and support learning activities.
An effective reading for Fun with Anna is an interactive storytelling learning method for childre... more An effective reading for Fun with Anna is an interactive storytelling learning method for children to develop their vocabulary knowledge by exploring many things using their imagination. The objectives of this paper include to develop interactive storybook that focus on vocabulary, helps children recognize vocabulary by giving them graphics to imagine, to identify multimedia elements and to conduct an effectiveness testing on interactive storybook. The interactive multimedia story book was developed based on ADDIE model that is the basic term for the five phase instructional design model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. The effectiveness testing reading for fun with Anna was conducted based on the Pre and Post testing through a case study of a Kindergarten in Melaka, Malaysia. The findings showed that the Post-Test result, who underwent the teaching and learning process using the reading for fun with Anna had a higher achievement level in comparison with the Pre-Test, who experienced the conventional approach to teaching and learning. This paper implies the effectiveness of the reading for fun with Anna in classroom. For future work, it is recommended that the student's score should record after children do their exercises. The score will be appearing and they can save it under their name. This can build competitive feelings in them to compete with others indirectly it will motivate them to do better.

Photographs are one of the key aspects available on environmental websites that may transcend env... more Photographs are one of the key aspects available on environmental websites that may transcend environmental stories in ways that words cannot. Lately, photographs are used widely in communicating the environment campaigns online. Three environmental NGOs in Malaysia (ENGOMs) were chosen for this study. A content analysis was conducted on their websites to investigate how they used photographs as powerful tools to communicate environmental campaigns and potentially call people to take action. The result indicates that MNS had well utilised the photographs for its online campaigns, whereas both of WWFM and SAM had moderately utilised the photographs for the same purpose.

Literature has shown that planned change is accompanied by excitement and hope. People affected b... more Literature has shown that planned change is accompanied by excitement and hope. People affected by change require quality information. Failure to communicate change may lead to resistance. This paper presents a change involving the amalgamation of two university faculties into one. Within the framework of a case study research design and the used of the Constructivist Grounded Theory for data collection and analysis, the theme of communication during the change process is presented through the experiences and life accounts of faculty members involved and affected by it. The paper ends with useful suggestions for change agents in today's complex organization.
