religion is seen as a market system bàsed on private ownership as the
means of production. The play, Bishop Bassey, is a satire that lampoons the deceptive ireligiousness that has typified contemporary places of worship in Nigeria. The play raises major disturbing issues about the faith of the average man or woman in society. Bassey and Dede are plagued by economic and political injustice in the Nigerian society; hence, they decided to be creative in their own uncanny way by impersonating as sincere men of God in order to create wealth for themselves. But no sooner than they started, crises of ownership and resource control amongst them erupted. And this brawl eventually leads to the tragic end of Bishop Bassey

Mass media functions in various ways, first mass media keep us well informed of the happening around that is about day to day happening in our society or community. The mass media also persuade us mostly through advertisement. As we can see newspaper, magazine and television are fill with all kinds of powerful persuasive advertisement which tempt us to buy their product.
Also the mass media gives us entertainment. Theatre, Television and Radio broadcasting provides us with a big variety of programs which both educate and entertain us. mass media can easily be mobilized . Gender has become one of the “fault-lines” running through the political landscape of Nigeria. Since independence in 1960, Nigerian women have been challenging their role in society. The formation of women movement in the country has lent an impetus to the struggle of women and helps put women issues in the front burner.
The United Nations Human Development Report (1995:95) states that women have a greater burden, more work hours and more concurrent tasks. However, their contribution to national economy remains unrecognised and not accounted for. Women do 55 per cent of the world’s work, with the larger portion of it being unpaid work. Society has assigned women supportive roles like taking care of the sick, looking after children, nursing and being secretaries among other. They faces different forms of marginalization and inequalities.
There are many means the issue of gender equality has been projected the mass medium have equally tried in their various apex to reach both literate and less knowledgeable through the works of dramatist such as RoseMary "Asen's The Woman in black", Sule Ako's "We can Equally do it", JP Clark's "The wives Revolts" etc but the prejudice of this work will be looking at the television medium using the film titled "Jenifer" to discuss Gender related issues as portrayed in it.
