Metadata that means data about data enables the discovery of such information. When the metadata is effectively used, it increases the usefulness of the original data/resource and facilitates the resource discovery. Resource Description Framework (RDF) is a basis for handling these metadata and is a graph-based, self-describing data format that represents information about web-based resources. It is necessary to store the data persistently for many Semantic Web applications that were developed on RDF to perform effective queries. Because of the difficulty of storing and querying RDF data, several storage techniques have been proposed for these tasks. In this paper, we present the motivations for using the RDF data model. Several storage techniques are discussed along with the methods for optimizing the queries for RDF datasets. We present the differences between the Relational Database and the XML technology. Additionally, we specify some of the use cases for RDF. Our findings will shed light on the current achievements in RDF research by comparing the different methodologies for storage and optimization proposed so far, thus identifying further research areas.

Optik formlar optik okuyucu cihazlar sayesinde optik işaret tanıma teknikleri kullanılarak değerlendirilmektedir. Bu tip cihazların pahalı olması, bu cihazlara erişimin sınırlı olması ve değerlendirme sonuçlarını bekleme süresinin uzun olması hem büyük şehirlerde hem de taşrada çalışan eğitimcilere zorluk çıkarmaktadır. Bu çalışmada eğitimcilerin sahip oldukları akıllı telefon ya da tabletleri aracılığı ile bir mekana ya da optik cihaza bağlı kalmadan, hızlı bir şekilde öğrenci cevap formlarını değerlendirebilecekleri mobil bir yazılım geliştirilmiştir. Integration of face-to-face and online learning with blending learning can enhance the learning experience and optimize seat time. In this chapter, the authors present the teaching of an Algorithm and Programming course in Computer Engineering Education via an artificial intelligencesupported blended learning approach. Since 2011, Computer Engineering education in Suleyman Demirel University Computer Engineering Department is taught with a blended learning method. Blended learning is achieved through a Learning Management System (LMS) by using distance education technology. The LMS is comprised of course materials supported with flash animations, student records, user roles, and evaluation systems such as surveys and quizzes that meet SCORM standards. In this chapter, the related education process has been supported with an intelligent program, which is based on teaching C programming language. In this way, it has been aimed to improve educational processes within the related course and the education approach in the department. The blended learning approach has been evaluated by the authors, and the obtained results show that the introduced artificial intelligencesupported blended learning education program enables both teachers and students to experience better educational processes.

In this paper, performance evaluation of students in traditional and blended education for Computer Engineering is provided. Applied blended learning model is presented and evaluation of students who are taking programming courses is done. Therefore, it is aimed that adaptation period of students in blended education is shortened. Our results show that algorithmic thinking abilities of students who enrolled in the Algorithm and Programming course in blended and traditional education are close.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of cyber bullying on the distrust levels among t... more The aim of this study is to determine the effect of cyber bullying on the distrust levels among the final year university students by considering the intermediary effect of internet addiction. The study group comprises preservice teachers who were senior year students at the Firat University Education Faculty in Elazi city, Turkey during the spring term of 2009 2010 academic year. Cyber bullying of preservice teachers directly impacts their distrust levels at the 0.24 level. However, when internet addiction was included in the model as a mediating variable, the direct impact of cyber bullying on distrust decreased to 0.14. Therefore, it is evident that when cyber bullying is mediated by internet addiction, its impact on the distrust levels of preservice teachers is more significant.

ÖZET: Bu çalışmada, öğretmenlere yönelik olarak sergilenen psikolojik şiddetin, onların stres, tü... more ÖZET: Bu çalışmada, öğretmenlere yönelik olarak sergilenen psikolojik şiddetin, onların stres, tükenmişlik, iş doyumu ve yaşam doyumu düzeyleri üzerindeki etkisinin tespit edilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma evrenini, Elazığ il merkezinde 2008–2009 güz döneminde çalışmakta olan ilköğretim öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Anketler, bu çalışma evreninden seçkisiz olarak seçilmiş olan 300 kişilik örneklem grubuna uygulanmış ve bu anketlerden 237 tanesi geçerli sayılarak analize dâhil edilmiştir. LISREL 8.51 versiyonu kullanılarak bir yapısal eşitlik modeli geliştirilmiştir. Bu modele göre psikolojik şiddet, stres ve tükenmişliği pozitif şekilde, iş ve yaşam doyumunu ise negatif şekilde etkilemektedir. Psikolojik şiddet; stresin kısmi aracılık etkisiyle tükenmişliği, stres ve tükenmişliğin kısmi aracılık etkileriyle iş doyumunu ve son olarak da stres, tükenmişlik ve iş doyumunun kısmi aracılık etkileriyle yaşam doyumunu etkilemektedir.
