One of the courses that would benefit from their feedback is English for Occupational Purposes. Based on the practice at the workplace, graduates can provide information whether what was taught could be applied to their working environment. This study seeks to ascertain whether an EOP course is relevant to the needs of the graduates. A questionnaire survey was conducted, and a total of thirty alumni of an Arts Faculty responded to the survey. The findings indicate that the students benefited from the course, but a number of improvements can be made to make the course more effective. The study also highlighted the form of language used at work. The use of standard English, Malaysian English and Malay were found to be the highest in making small talks.

Online videos are easily accessible to users through Youtube and similar networks. The language learning and teaching field in particular has also benefitted from the technological advancements in digital video production. One of its uses is in the teaching of language through humour. The use of digital videos could help create a humorous atmosphere in the class. Substantial number of research has been conducted on the use of humor in language classes but most of them are based onprinted materials. This study attempts to use the videos on Youtube to create parody as a means of developing their language skills. It seeks to investigate students' perception of integrating elements of humour in the digital stories. The study aimsto capture the language of humor used by the studentsthrough the videos that they produced. In order to do this, a groupof ESL pre-service teachers were given the task to produce a humorous video-based (on Youtube) digital story. Self-administered online questionnaire was used to elicit their responses. Overall, most of the teacher trainees gave positive feedback to the given task. From the pedagogical perspective, the research concludes that producing humorous video-based digital story could be used to improve students' language skills.

Thirty-three hospitals fulfilled the criteria for this study. SMOG and FOG readability formulae were used in this research. The study shows that there was a significantly positive correlation between FOG and SMOG. Using FOG and SMOG indices, it was found that the reading level of most of the 'About-us' sections was too difficult to the majority of the readers.

The integration of technology can transform a class from lecture driven to a constructivist and inquiry-oriented classroom (Newby, Stepich, Lehman and Russell). One possible technology that can realise this transformation in a learning situation is the integration of telecommunication technology. Such a class has the potential of providing an authentic interactive writing environment. Email, which is one of the telecommunication facilities, can turn learning into a social interactive process. According to Allen and Thompson, the effect of email on the quality of writing is positive when students know that the communication is real and that they will receive a prompt reply. Studies also show that online correspondence facilitates peer editing (St. John and Cash; Hawisher and Moran) and collaborative writing (Hawisher and Moran; Bonvallet and De Luce). Many studies that involved exchanges between second language learners (L2) and native speakers of the language learned (L1) show that emails provide the L2 students with a positive language environment. St. John and Cash, example, studied the correspondence between an English student and a German native speaker over a period of six months. Leh established an email exchange between college L2 students

The academic community has to learn to adapt and adopt the various technologies which include Managed Learning Environment (MLE), Student Learning Environment (SMS) and Learning Management System (LMS) to keep abreast with the latest development in education. The technology that exists has to be managed to obtain the expected return on investment (ROI). This paper presents the initiatives taken by a Malaysian public university in planning and delivering technology services to meet its educational objectives. It discusses factors that are involved which include policy implementation, governance, integration in teaching and learning, learning management system, research and publication. The paper touches on the use of dedicated and open source systems/software in administration, teaching and learning.
