В статье рассматривается взаимосвязь между финансовой устойчивостью и инновационной активностью зарубежных инновационных предприятий лифтовой индустрии из разных стран за период с 2011 по 2016 год. Целью работы является совершенствование оценки вероятности банкротства инновационных предприятий и исследование взаимосвязи показателей их устойчивости и затрат на инновации на мировом рынке лифтовой индустрии. В качестве исходных данных использованы данные финансовой отчетности зарубежных производственных компаний лифтовой индустрии, полученные с официальных сайтов компаний. Выявлена взаимосвязь между объемом финансовых ресурсов, выделяемых компанией на научно-исследовательские и опытно-конструкторские разработки и по-тенциальной вероятностью ее банкротства. Определена зависимость инноваций на финансовую устойчивость инновационных предприятий из Финляндии, Швейцарии и Германии.

This study examines the specific features of financial
management at a small enterprise.

Aim:This study aims to determine major problems of
financial management at a small enterprise and proposes
potential solutions in the context of patterns in
the development of small enterprises.
Tasks: This study analyzes factors that determine the
efficiency and growth of small enterprises, defines the
criteria for classifying an enterprise as a developing one
(i. e., one with a potential for further growth that can
be transformed into a medium-sized enterprise), and
identifies major problems of financial management at a
small enterprise, focusing on their causes and possible
solutions.
Methods: This study examines scientific papers and
regulatory documents on small businesses, analyses
the integration of statistical data and the results of the
author’s observation of the activity of small, developing
enterprises, as well as surveys of entrepreneurs.

Results: The problem of financial management at a small
enterprise is viewed in the context of increasing efficiency
of its overall operation. Of paramount importance
are the entrepreneur’s personality and entrepreneurial
talent, which are factors that determine the potential
for the development of a small enterprise, as well as
the need to successfully solve information problem to
ensure further growth and business development.
This study shows that the problems of financial management
at a small enterprise occur mainly due to the
entrepreneur’s lack of understanding of the importance
of reliable reporting of information for managerial decision-
making. Inefficient managerial decisions stem from
a misunderstanding of the nature of profit, its management,
basic principles of accountability, the relationship
between principal performance indicators in the context
of limited time resources, and the ensuing inability to
focus on the issues of financial management. The author
believes that by addressing the information problem and
by building a new management system, an entrepreneur
should be able to focus on the crucial issues of business
development and education in the field of financial management,
which would lead to more efficient decisions
and, consequently, better company growth.

Idea of entrepreneurship was transformed throughout several centuries, and today it is widely accepted that this concept can be disclosed through the personality of entrepreneur who is a driving force of development of small enterprises as a whole. Purpose: disclosure of psychological aspects of a person of entrepreneur as one of the main factors influencing the process of small enterprises development. Results: 1. Primary importance of the personality of entrepreneur as the subject predetermining an orientation and intensity of small enterprises development is conceptualized. 2. Need of use of a subject and methods of psychology, economic psychology for an explanation of a phenomenon of small enterprises development is disclosed. Practical implications: the research results can be used for improvement of the effectiveness of small enterprises activity.

The aim of the present research was finding out why an overwhelming majority of small enterprises are incapable of growth. The paper provides a completely new view and explanation of the small and medium-sized enterprise development problem and presents the challenge-solving algorithm integrated into the web service for timely assessments facilitating a successful transition of enterprises into a group of big enterprises. The findings confirm that laws of the enterprise development are more universal than people commonly believe and not so dependent on external factors. The suggested concept of the informational challenge is a key development factor at small fast-growing enterprises managed by talented entrepreneurs. The concept helps to understand difficulties and cope with them in time of a business transition to the category of medium-sized enterprises. Long-term observations of 68 enterprises (longitudinal study) in Russia made it possible to identify preconditions for gazelle enterprises to appear and factors that prevent them from the sustained growth with an emphasized importance of some internal factors in these processes like entrepreneurs' personality traits in particular.

The article is dedicated to issues related to the teaching of currently relevant discipline "Financial management". In the article is confirmed the necessity of developing adequate approaches to the teaching of this discipline for such important participants of business relations, as Entrepreneur, Manager and Investor, and is also proved the need for substantial changes in teaching methods in order to correspond to the needs of the Russian market. In this paper, we present the scoring tool for startup evaluation called the MDP method (Management of Developing Projects) for an academic discussion. The MDP method implies the application of qualitative and quantitative criteria with due considerations given to personality types of main economic entities. The method’s aims are better evaluation, better business development and support to participants of the innovation infrastructure. We believe that this method is set to become a cross-functional assessment tool that facilitates the successful development of investment and innovation projects. This paper presents the approach to the understanding of the entrepreneurship phenomenon. With this approach, it is possible to identify this social activity as essentially distinct from those that are seemingly similar but distinct in content. Having reviewed the relevant literature of this area of study with a critical eye, the author has identified systemic errors in the traditional understanding of entrepreneurship (first-order and second-order errors).
