The present study was conducted with the objective of finding out the socioeconomic status of the respondents and to assess the awareness of the rural people on different digital applications, sites and channels. The study was conducted on 120 members of Jorhat and Golaghat District of Assam. Results of the study showed that 70.83 per cent of the respondents belonged to the medium level of socioeconomic status and among different digital applications sites and channels in different categories, DD Kishan (Agricultural), Facebook (Social media), ArogyaSetu (Health), Google meet (Videoconferencing), Google Pay (Finance) and Flipkart (online shopping) were found to be more popular as compared to others in their categories.

Due to the advancement in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), everything has been digitalized. In order to utilize the benefits of such technological advancement, people must have adequate knowledge and favourable attitude towards performing different activities on digital mode. The study was conducted on 120 members of Jorhat and Golaghat District of Assam to assess the attitude of the respondents towards digital literacy and to find out the difference of attitude of male respondents with female respondents on digital literacy. It was found that a large proportion (44.17%) of the respondents had a moderately favourable attitude towards digital tools and services, 22.50 per cent had highly favourable attitude and followed by least favourable attitude (33.33%). There was no significant difference in attitude of male respondents on digital literacy with the attitude of female respondents.

The present investigation was carried out to study the existing management practices of Fast Food... more The present investigation was carried out to study the existing management practices of Fast Food Street Vendors of Jorhat district of Assam. The registered fast food street vendors of Jorhat district were purposively selected for the present study. A total of 111 respondents were randomly selected for the present study, which was 50 percent of the total population. An interview schedule was constructed for collection of data. Appropriate statistical methods were used such as frequency, percentage, mean, factor analysis and intensity index. The data from the finding of present study was revealed that the fast food vendors of Jorhat district had different management practices pertaining to financial, social, family, maintenance of hygiene and administration. Some suggestive measures directly influencing the health status of the people in large through street food vendors need to be planned meticulously. A training programme to inform the fast food vendors regarding health and hygiene is the need of the hour. Local administration may be approached to sponsor such a training programme to prepare a training kit containing apron, head cover and gloves. Moreover, the local administration may be requested to make it mandatory to use this hygienic kit by all fast food vendors and become a proud pioneer to show case a step towards popularising the healthy fast food centres in Jorhat district thereby attracting the unemployed educated youth to start fast food centres as a good start up. Government can also provide minimum facilities in appropriate places for the street food vendors, since major economic return from this sectors are more in a developing country like India.

Most of the people use traditional farming tools in their farming. Because traditional tools are heavy in weight, they face different types of physiological health problems. In this paper we discussed the physiological problems faced by tribal farm women in performing the selected farming activities that were carried out in the Majuli district of Assam. From the selected district, one subdivision and from one subdivision, one block was selected. From the selected block, three villages were selected randomly. One hundred (100) respondents were selected randomly from each of the villages. Data collection was done using an interview cum questionnaire. Four (4) tea gardens under public corporation from Jorhat sub-division were selected using purposive sampling method. A total of 100 women tea plantation workers were selected for the present study. It was found that majority of the household decisions were taken jointly by their husbands followed by independent decision. It was further found that respondents spent the majority of time (7.94 hours) in working at tea garden. The majority (51.00%) of the respondents were mostly interested in poultry farming followed by goat rearing (14.00%).

It is an easy to operate and environment friendly technology for handling biodegradable garbage. It is the latest aspect of biotechnology where application of earthworm is made for recycling the waste disposal problems. For minimizing the pollution effects and to get useful products from wastes, it requires no sophisticated machinery to operate vermiculture and do not produce any odour or any other type of pollution. So the present investigation was designed to explore the "Constraints faced by farmers in adoption of Vermiculture Technology". The study was conducted in Jorhat district of Assam. A multi stage purposive cum simple random sampling design was followed for the research study. 120 numbers of respondents were selected randomly from 12 villages of the three blocks of Jorhat district. Data collection was done by using interview cum questionnaire. Findings of the study constraints faced by the farmers revealed that inadequate training facility rank I with the mean score 1.98 and followed by lack of organized market, lack of extension contact, lack of government support, lack of scientific knowledge, lack of relevant literature and attack of insect-pest and diseases with the ranking of II, III, IV, V, VI and VII respectively.

This study was conducted in Jorhat district of Assam due to the most of the trained farmers started vermicompost in their houses. 120 numbers of respondents, irrespective of sex were selected from 12 villages of the three blocks had been selected for the present study. Data collection was done by using interview cum questionnaire method. Data revealed that 69.17 per cent of the respondents had medium level of practices towards vermiculture technology. The findings revealed that attending the training programme had showed significant association with practices of the trained farmers towards vermiculture technology.

The respondents of the present study were rural women from adopted villages of Department of Extension Education, Faculty of Home Science, Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat selected purposively. The data were collected through a structured interview schedule prepared by the researcher. It was observed from the findings that the respondents had faced a number of problems in practicing different technologies disseminated through Home Science extension programme. The study was carried out in the Jorhat district of Assam. Four Blocks were selected from National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) initiative blocks. Thus all total 16 Self Help Groups were selected from these blocks for the present study. Ten members from 16 SHG's, total 160 members were selected using simple random sampling for the study. From the study, it was observed that majority (46.00 %) of the members of SHG had medium level of participation in managerial activities. For this purpose, 100 rural women of Bharowal of Ludhiana district were selected. Data were collected through interview schedule. The response was recorded on three point scale i.e. most need, needed and not needed. Accordingly, score of two one and zero was assigned, respectively to calculate the mean score of each item. Training needs were studied in different sub areas of clothing and textiles viz., training for preparation of detergents and soaps, dying and paining of fabrics, stitching of different garments and knitting and identification and care of different types of clothes etc. The study findings revealed that highest mean scores were found for stain removing, preparation of soaps and detergents, identification of different types of fabrics and their dyeing methods.
