Abstract

This study focuses on investigating the relationship between water temperature, water pH, and residual water chlorine with the presence of Aedes sp. larvae in the RW 06 area of North Gandaria Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta. Utilizing an analytical cross-sectional research design, the study encompasses a population of 667 houses in RW 06, with a sample size of 92 houses determined through Proportional Simple Random Sampling. The analysis employs chi-square tests to examine the associations between the variables. The findings reveal that there is no significant relationship between water temperature and the presence of Aedes sp. larvae (P-value = 0.659) and no significant relationship between water pH and the presence of Aedes sp. larvae (P-value = 0.434). However, the research does identify a noteworthy association between residual water chlorine and the presence of Aedes sp. larvae (P-value = 0.000). This emphasizes the importance of water chlorine levels in influencing the presence of Aedes sp. larvae in the specified area. The study's outcomes contribute valuable insights to the management of water quality in the context of Aedes sp. larvae control.

Abstract

Biocoagulant chitosan from mangrove crabs (Scylla Sp) was applied in the coagulation and flocculation process of tofu wastewater treatment. The concentration variations used were 650 ppm, 620 ppm, 590 ppm, 560 ppm, and control with 3 replications. The research results show a decrease in TSS levels in tofu wastewater after treatment (p-value=0.00001). The TSS level before treatment was 1255 mg/L, and after treatment, the highest average was at a concentration of 650 ppm, which became 691 mg/L (45%), and the lowest average decrease was at a concentration of 560 ppm, which became 833 mg/L (33%).

Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) or complaints in the musculoskeletal system are complaints in parts of the skeletal muscles that are felt by a person ranging from very mild complaints to very painful. Based on the British Medical Journal report, there were around 322.75 million cases of accidents, deaths and disability-adjusted life years in 2019 caused by MSDs. This study aims to determine the level of ergonomic risk and individual characteristics that cause subjective complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) in PT workers. Indoporlen Refractories. The population and sample for this study were all maintenance workers, totaling 11 people. This research is a descriptive analytical study with an observational approach using a cross sectional study design, namely to observe and measure the level of ergonomic risk and individual characteristics of workers which are the independent variables, as well as complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) as the dependent variable. The results of this research analysis show that there is a significant relationship between the level of ergonomic risk and subjective complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) (p value = 0.026) and worker characteristics with subjective complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) based on age (p value = 0.036) and length of service (p value = 0.022).
