Abstract

This study aims to describe the environment-based students’ motivation to learn Arabic in Islamic Boarding schools in West Sumatra. Motivation is seen from its intrinsic and extrinsic aspects. This research employed qualitative approach with data collection techniques carried out by observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques were carried out by triangulation of observational data, document analysis, documentation, and descriptive statistic. The findings indicate that Islamic boarding schools in West Sumatra were employing environment-based Arabic learning and it was evident that the approach improves students’ speaking skills and generates motivation to them. Intrinsic motivation encourages student to speak arabic, which is indicated by the  desire to discuss arabic languange materials and is categorized as “ very well ”.“ student learning desire”was also raised on the aspek “seriousness of doing learning tasks” which is showing at the “very well”category, and on the aspect of “students’ desire to progress” showed the “good” category.  In short, the environmental approach sheds light on learning Arabic as it improves students’ engagement in speaking Arabic.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh aplikasi quiziz untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar siswa. Setelah diaplikasikan maka akan terlihat berpengaruh atau tidaknya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, dimana informasi akan diperoleh langsung dari lapangan. Selain itu peneliti harus benar-benar mengetahui situasi dan kondisi lapangan secara mendalam agar informasi dapat digali sedalam mungkin. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswa di Indonesia. Sedangkan objek penelitian adalah motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa setelah melibatkan aplikasi quiziz dalam pembelajaran. hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan hasil belajar dan motivasi siswa setelah penggunaan aplikasi quiziz sebagai alat evaluasi pembelajaran. 100 persen yang menyatakan bahwa quiziz membuat test lebih menarik, 94,4 persen yang menyatakan bahwa aplikasi quiziz dapat meningkatkan keinginan belajar, 83,3 persen yang menyatakan aplikasi quiziz merupakan aplikasi terbaik untuk test, 66,7 persen yang menyatakan bahwa aplikasi quiziz cocok untuk setiap melakukan test, 83,3 persn yang menyatakan bahwa aplikasi quiziz membuat siswa lebih rileks mengerjakan ujian

Abstract

In the COVID-19 outbreak, the implementation of learning which is usually carried out face-to-face has been shifted to virtual form. The performance of education during the pandemic has undergone significant changes so that the problems found in its implementation can be studied to find solutions to these problems. This study was conducted to obtain data on the performance and progress of Arabic language learning in Islamic boarding schools during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative through library research. The study was conducted to provide a clear, objective, systematic, analytical, and critical description of the implementation of Arabic language learning at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Tanah Datar during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted in 2021 in one of the Ibtidaiyah Madrasah in Tanah Datar Regency. The research results are sourced from several instruments that have been prepared previously, such as questionnaires or research questionnaires to serve as a supporting tool in conducting direct observations and interviews with the research object. In addition, the data of this study were sourced from the results of interviews with the Ibtidaiyah madrasah. His study results indicate that learning Arabic during the pandemic has advantages and disadvantages. The obstacles found in the implementation of learning can be in the form of the psychological conditions of students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, less than optimal teacher performance in preparing lessons, internal family problems, and the environmental conditions of the surrounding community.

Abstract

Over time the world evolved in all fields. One of them is in the areas affected by the evolution of the times, namely the field of education. Education should be flexible so that there is a synchronization between the development of the times and the world of education. More and more, we realize that there is a need for an innovative and competitive next generation, not only nationally but also internationally. Moving on from this, the researcher took the initiative to provide environment-based Arabic vocabulary material to students at the early childhood education level, namely Islamic Kindergartens. The purpose of this study was to test whether environmental-based Arabic vocabulary learning could be realized for students in Islamic Kindergartens. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method by analyzing social events, phenomena or events. The research subjects are Al-Amin Islamic Kindergarten students whose address is at Jl. Ahmad Yani No. 89 D, Baringin, Five Peoples of Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra Province. In this study, researchers used the Spradley model of data analysis, namely domain analysis, by obtaining a general description of the researchers' observed events. The research was conducted for three days inside and outside the classroom. After the researchers observed, it can be concluded that the provision of environment-based Arabic vocabulary learning materials in Islamic Kindergartens can be realized by providing simple materials adapted to students' cognitive abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal: 1) Mahmud Yunus' thoughts on the application of the Eclectic Method to teaching Arabic language material, 2) the reflection of Mahmud Yunus' thoughts on the implementation of the Eclectic method of teaching Arabic material at the Darus Salam Gontor Islamic boarding school. This study used a qualitative design, with two approaches; 1) literature study on Mahmud Yunus's thoughts on the Eclectic Method and 2) case study on discussing the implementation of the Eclectic Method in Mahmud Yunus' perspective. The research data were obtained using documentation, observation, and in-depth interviews. The data is then validated for correctness, suitability and reliability through data triangulation. The findings of this study illustrate that; (1) according to Mahmud Yunus that each branch of the Arabic language material is taught with various methods while still centered on one method (direct method), (2) The implementation of Arabic teaching methods at Pondok Gontor Sembilan shows conformity with Mahmud Yunus's thoughts on aspects of combining methods which is in line with the direct method in a systematic and tiered manner.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how the approach to curriculum development of the Arabic language department at Batusankar State Islamic University, implementation of Arabic curricula in MTs / West Sumatra, relationship of the Arabic language curriculum of Batusankar State Islamic University with the achievement of the objectives of the Arabic curricula MTs / in West Sumatra. This research uses a qualitative design, with a multi-faceted approach to discuss the synchronization of the curricula of Arabic education departments with Arabic language teaching in MTs/ in West Sumatra and then obtaining this research data using documentation, observation and in-depth interview techniques. Then validate the data correctly, constraints by triangulating the data. The results showed that the curriculum of the Arabic language department at Batusankar State Islamic University is the result of "institutional union" respectively, not "structural union". The “institutional” results development model is called the grass-roots model with an academic subject approach. The Arab Curriculum Development Model for West Sumatra District Managers follows a “linear pillars” or “top-down” line of command procedure. The implementation plan for the implementation of the Arab curriculum for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is implemented by Salbous and the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) / preparation and implementation of a curriculum that cannot be separated. So that its maintenance is considered a unified unit. Then between the curriculum of the State Islamic University of Batusankar, the achievement of the objectives of the Arabic curricula, the MTs / middle school in West Sumatra has a relevant relationship.Keywords: approach to curriculum, curriculum of the Arabic language, The Arab Curriculum

Abstract

The principal is the main factor in managing educational institutions in order to realize the goals of education itself. The main problem in this research is what the strategy of the principal of SMP IT Qurrata A’yun in improving teachers performance. Data processing is carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner, which is obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The role of the principal of SMP IT Qurrata A’yun by using a democratic leadership style, so that the principal can mobilize teachers in carrying out school programs and can achieve the goals that have been set. The principal’s strategy of SMP IT Qurrata A’yun in improving teacher performance are by conducting performance coaching for teachers, conducting supervision, fostering teacher discipline, providing motivation and giving awards

Abstract

Arabic material is the main goal for learning Arabic itself, but without the material, students can't be able to master the scope of Arabic courses. The teaching and learning process indeed uses teaching materials. Teaching materials must follow the times that are by the current trend, namely the era of 4.0, which must link information and communication technology in lectures. ICT is known as software, and hardware, which supports classes, is software. This software has various types, one of which is Lecture Maker. This study uses research and development or R D using the Borg and Gall model where the steps are as follows: a). Needs analysis, b). Design, c). Development, d) trials, e) revisions, f) dimensions, production, and distribution. With the development results, this teaching material is suitable for use in Arabic language courses in universities. It is also ideal for distribution because it can be applied to laptops or computers. After all, users do not need to install the Lecture Maker application itself.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal: first the background of the preparation of Indonesian-based Arabic teaching materials, second: Mahmud Yunus' method in an effort to develop Arabic teaching materials for Indonesians. This study uses a qualitative design, with a literature approach that comes from historical, social and educational sources. The research data were obtained using documentation, observation, and in-depth interviews. The data collection of this research depended on library sources on the history of the compilation and content of Arabic textbooks by Mahmud Yunus for Indonesian students. The data is then validated for correctness, suitability and reliability through data triangulation. This study resulted in the findings describing Mahmud Yunus' reform efforts in the development of Arabic teaching materials in Indonesia, as follows: First, the birth of Arabic textbooks was based on the results of Mahmud Yunus' study which showed that the Arabic language book material that came from Middle East was not based on student needs. Indonesia, and the two textbook materials compiled by Mahmud Yunus are contextualized, and oriented towards student life.
