Abstract

This classroom action research aimed to improve student’s reading comprehension of descriptive text by using the teacher’s scaffolding, especially in the aspect of vocabulary, finding the detailed information and main idea, determining pronoun reference, and using correct language features. This research was conducted in three cycles, with 32 students of the VII E class in SMP Negeri 03 Sungai Raya as the subject. The collected data were qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were gathered from the observation checklist and field notes, and the quantitative data were collected from the reading test. The findings showed that the use of teacher’s scaffolding in teaching reading comprehension text was encouraged students to determine the language features and pronoun reference, completing the detailed information and main idea and, increasing students’ vocabulary. The students became more active, enthusiastic, motivated and, confident in the reading comprehension class. The students enjoyed reading descriptive text and followed the learning activities. Based on the quantitative data, the students’ score of cycle 1 was 65,59, increased to 78,84 in the second cycle and 83 in the third cycle.

Abstract

ABSTRACTEmployee performance in a company or agency organization must be demanded because with performance, existing human resources will have innovations related to improving quality as a symbol Because productivity is the result of a continuous process that begins with the operationalization of a company or an institution, consideration of human capital has a special place in the organization of a company or an institution. the use of effective communication is allegedly able to create communication satisfaction among employees because it reduces the distortion of conveying information that is not necessary. So that when examined in more depth, the organizational communication climate in the company can create organizational communication satisfaction, namely being able to use effective communication which will later act as an instrument in improving employee performance in maximizing their potential in the development and progress of the company.Keywords: Climate Development, Corporate Organizational, Communication Employee

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem pakar diagnosis penyakit pada tanaman cabai rawit. Sistem pakar merupakan suatu sistem yang berisi pengetahuan seorang pakar yang diterapkan untuk aktivitas dalam memecahkan masalah. Hal yang menjadi kendala dalam mendiagnosis penyakit cabai rawit adalah kurangnya bimbingan dan penyuluhan terkait budidaya tanaman cabai rawit maupun penanganan terhadap serangan penyakit serta kurangnya tenaga ahli untuk melakukan konsultasi. Sehingga diperlukan adanya suatu metode untuk membantu memecahkan masalah tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metode Teorema Bayes. Bahasa pemrograman mobile yang digunakan untuk membuat sistem pakar daignosis penyakit cabai rawit berbasis Android yaitu bahasa pemrograman Java dengan menggunakan MySQL sebagai database. Sumber pengetahuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 8 jenis penyakit dan 36 total gejala dengan 8 dataset sebagai basis pengetahuan sistem. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan dan perhitungan didapatkan hasil persentase pengujian akurasi diagnosa antara pakar dengan sistem adalah 80%.

Abstract

The Maranggap tradition in Batak Toba society carries deep social and traditional medical values. This ethnographic qualitative research examines the changes and continuities of Maranggap in the face of Christian influences and modernization, as well as their impact on collective identity and social cohesion. The study was conducted over six months (January–June 2024) in Humbang Hasundutan, Sidikkalang, Girsang Sipangan Bolon, and Tanah Jawa. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with customary leaders, religious figures, and community members, as well as participatory observation. Thematic analysis was used to identify key patterns and themes. Findings reveal that in Girsang Sipangan Bolon and Tanah Jawa, Maranggap has been replaced by Christian-style thanksgiving rituals, while in Humbang Hasundutan and Sidikkalang, it is still practiced with modifications. Christian influences are reflected in the use of prayers, hymns, and new interpretations of traditional elements. Modernization has led to changes in food offerings, event organization through digital platforms, and a decline in the role of traditional birth attendants due to medical regulations. However, traditional health practices—such as marbara (smoke healing) and the use of betel leaves, turmeric, and ginger—remain relevant. The integration of traditional and modern medical knowledge is growing, and technology aids in preserving and disseminating Maranggap’s health-related wisdom. This study highlights how traditional values adapt within shifting religious and contemporary contexts, and the ongoing challenge of sustaining cultural identity in a transforming society.
