In this study, trend analyses were performed to determine whether there are any increase or decrease in the total annual precipitation and annual average temperature data of 36 stations located in and around Kızılırmak Basin, Turkey. Mann-Kendall test, which is a non-parametric trend analysis method, was utilised in order to conduct an investigation for a period of about 40 years ranging from 1975 to 2015. Although no-trend was perceived in the total annual precipitation in the most of the stations, an increasing trend was observed in the average annual temperature in the majority of the stations, with a significance level of 95%.

In this study, analyses were conducted to determine if there are any trends in the annual average streamflow data of 21 flow measurement stations situated on Kızılırmak River, Turkey. Mann-Kendall and Sperman's Rho tests, which are non-parametric trend analysis methods, were employed in order to perform a research for a period of about 30 years ranging from 1975 to 2005. The results show a decreasing trend in the majority of the streamflow data, however, no-trend was observed in a number of stations, with a significance level of 0.05.

As a consequence of the rapidly increasing world population, the amount of water per capita is de... more As a consequence of the rapidly increasing world population, the amount of water per capita is decreasing, while its pollution rate is increasing. Owing to the fast population growth, insensible consumption and global warming; water, which is essential for all forms of life, is being used ever more. For this reason, the amount of clean water is decreasing steadily. Meteorological parameters are important factors in the sustainability of the water resources. Variations in temperature and precipitation are of great importance in terms of the stability of agricultural activities and the need for drinking water supply. In this study, data of meteorological station of 17262 which is located in Kilis city centre were employed. The data covers a period of approximately 41 years from 1975 to 2016. Monthly maximum and mean temperature data and monthly total rainfall data were examinedby utilising the Mann-Kendall trend analysis test. Trend analyses were evaluated according to the significance levels of 0.05 and 0.15. There was an increasing trend in monthly maximum temperature at a significance level of 0.05 at June. An increasing trend was observed in the average monthly temperature data from April to August, excluding May. It was perceived that there was no trend for the monthly total rainfall data according to the significance level of 0.05.

Kilis ilinde bulunan düzenli depolama tesisinde yaz ve kış sezonları olmak üzere yılda 2 kez 4 günlük saha çalışmaları sonucu elde edilen kompozisyon analiz sonuçları değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Şehirdeki geri dönüştürülebilir katı atık miktarlarının farklı sosyo-ekonomik seviyeye ve yaz-kış aylarına göre değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Toplanan evsel katı atık kompozisyonunu ayırma işleminde ASTM D 5231-91 (Standard Test Method for Determination of the Composition of Unprocessed Municipal Solid Waste) elle ayırma yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Çalışma sonuçları neticesinde genel olarak atık içerisinde geri dönüştürülebilir maddeler %10.7. Gelir seviyesiyle doğru orantılı olarak geri kazanabilir madde miktarıda artmaktadır. Yaz ve kış mevsimleri toplamında yüksek gelirli bölgelerde %16.2 iken düşük gelirli bölgelerde %5.4' e kadar düşmektedir. Abstract The recycling projects has an important role in the longer life span of raw material resources, the reduction of environmental pollution and production costs. The assesment of the composition analyses of the solid waste ofthe landfill facility in Kilis province was conducted by field investigation, twice a year, in the summer and winter seasons, each lasting 4 days. The recyclable solid waste amount was evaluated according to different socioeconomic levels and the seasons; summer or winter. ASTM D 5231-91 (Standard Test Method for Determination of the Composition of Unprocessed Municipal Solid Waste) The results of the analyses Show that the amount recyclable materials were found to be around 10.7% of solid waste, that was noted to be directly proportional to the level of income. While the total annual amount of recyclable material was 16.2% in higher income areas, it was around 5.4% in lower income areas.

In this study, the determining of the river network and the basin boundaries were aimed by using GIS and Digital Elevation Model (DEM) that obtained from the satellite images of that region. ArcGIS and Archydro tool which are GIS Software were benefited in order to make advance these processes. The study made on the Kızılırmak basin was given as an example in the determination of the boundaries of a basin in GIS. In this study, the map of Turkey that has 30m x 30m resolution in Digital Elevation Model was used. After the completion of defining DEM on ArcGIS Program; Fill and Sink, determination of direction of flow, cumulative flow mapping, identification of river network, pour point marking, and identification of the basin boundaries were processed respectively.
Bu çalışmada, Sayısal Yükseklik Modeli (SYM) ve ArcGIS’in hidrolojik bir araç seti olan ArcHydro ... more Bu çalışmada, Sayısal Yükseklik Modeli (SYM) ve ArcGIS’in hidrolojik bir araç seti olan ArcHydro kullanılarak Kızılırmak Nehri Havza sınırları belirlenmiştir. Mevcut akım gözlem istasyonları (AGİ) havza çıkış noktaları kabul edilerek alt havza sınırları oluşturulmuştur. Havza ve yakınında yer alan yağış istasyonlarının her biri bir Thiessen çokgenin içinde kalacak Şekilde etki alanları tespit edilmiştir. Her bir alt havzanın hesaplanan yağış-akış katsayısına bağlı olarak Kızılırmak Havzası’nın akış katsayısı literatür de ki ile örtüşecek Şekilde bulunmuştur. Havzada baraj mansabında bulunan ve herhangi bir baraj etkisinde bulunmayan akım istasyonları için yağış-akış ilişkisi grafik ile ifade edilmiştir. Bu grafikler sonucunda baraj mansabında bulunan istasyonlarda sağlıklı sonuçlar elde edilemediği gözlemlenmiştir.
