On 27 August 2025, In the news was updated with an item that involved the article Humpy Wheeler, which you updated. If you know of another recently created or updated article suitable for inclusion in ITN, please suggest it on the candidates page. Curbon7 (talk) 22:27, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't retire

[edit]

(I was going to put this on the talk page of your main account, but this is the one you appear to have been using.)

Your AN/I was an honest statement of your worries that something untoward was going on, backed up by diffs. The community is resistant to LLM usage, for valid reasons. I think you did the right thing bringing forward your concerns, particularly since there is (intentionally) no way for us mortals to know whether TAs are the same person as a subsequently registered account. When the editor gave an explanation—and it turned out that they weren't using something like ChatGPT—you apologised and offered to close the noticeboard section. You were far more empathetic and responsive to the other editor's concerns than most AN/I posters.

I don't think you have anything to be ashamed of. I'm glad they appear to have decided not to quit; and I very much think you shouldn't quit. Yngvadottir (talk) 00:43, 11 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Bare urls

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your edit to 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series. I found it while checking a site that logs all maintenance templates in WP:Motorsport.

Bare URLs are references that have no other identifying information besides the URL. All of the references on that page have a website name and titles that, from a quick archive spotcheck, appear to be correct. This is enough information to be helpful and is therefore okay, even if it isn't formatted in a reference template. I have a lot of time on my hands though so I am converting all the ones I can find easily.

This isn't a warning, it's just to let you know for the future. Thanks! - Mitchea99 (talk) 01:45, 15 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
