Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Jamiebuba was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Col. Thomas McElderry and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by ChrysGalley were:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
It looks like there could be notability, but unless there is more sourcing then it would be premature to move this to mainspace. There would be a greater than 50% chance of deletion. Both the existing sources are open to challenge. Can the submitting editor kindly do some further research to find another couple of sources please. As a courtesy I have turned the references into the more usual citation style.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit it after they have been resolved.
If you would like to continue working on the submission, go to Draft:Richard Morrison II and click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window.
If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it will be considered abandoned and may be deleted.

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by KeyolTranslater was:
A notable figure it seems but the sourcing isn’t the greatest, I would recommend getting rid of the Rootsweb source as it isn’t backed up by anything (no sources), the Annistonstar source doesn’t work (but that might be an issue on my end), I think better sources are required so I recommend finding some more in-depth and reliable ones on this figure

I fixed the rootsweb source and the annistonstar source works I just double checked. I also added lots more primary sources. I hope that is enough primary sources. Included are orignial goverment journals, letters, muster rolls, and records from over 150 years ago. Henryalley1 (talk) 14:06, 7 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @Carolina6240 for the interesting new article. However, can I persuade you to remove the findagrave sources, both of them, please. That's not regarded as a reliable source, more details here: WP:RSP. I am supposed to do it myself but I suspect you can handle it better. There are bots out there which will pick this up within a day or two, and so it would be better if you can resolve this. It is OK to put them into External links instead, but you can't reference it directly. ChrysGalley (talk) 18:18, 14 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Richard Morrison II, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Southern States was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Once an article has been nominated for deletion at articles for deletion, you may not move the article, nor remove the AFD notice on the article. I have reverted your move and restored the AFD notice. If you wish to have it moved back to draft, you will need to make your case at the deletion discussion. -- Whpq (talk) 22:34, 17 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Robert seabrook grave.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
make a note permitting reuse under the CC BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
Hi! So I went out the the grave yard today, as it is near my house and I took a new photo. I re did the credits so I think it should be all good now. Let me know if I can do anything else. Carolina6240 (talk) 18:49, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
A tag has been placed on File:Charlestownemarker.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation and has no credible claim of non-free use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Unfortunately I believe that this nomination is correct: the license given on the source page does not allow commercial re-use, which makes it incompatible with Wikipedia's licensing requirements for free content (which are not easy to understand). I have deleted the file. —Kusma (talk) 22:39, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Carolina6240! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 18:56, 24 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Carolina6240, it's your former colonial overlords here! Thanks for the article, and I've resolved the disambiguation on the page name. Putting the article as a draft for review is the right thing to do since we can click through to clear it. The other comment I have is that the original version heavily relied on primary sources, and while that is OK to an extent, primary sources can't be used for notability under Wikipedia's policies, and at a certain point too much primary sourcing may come across as original research. Secondary and tertiary sources are greatly preferred and mandatory for notability. So I've added in a few extra secondary sources. I think the Deaton source has a lot of further information, from a quick look, if you want to improve it further. I also removed some citations which were not to specific sources, but to primary source general locations: it is important that sources and text are tightly connected, so it's not possible to put a general repository address and leave it at that. Offline sources are absolutely fine, but they have contain enough information that someone can locate the source and then dovetail it to the article's wording. It probably doesn't make a lot of difference here, but just to explain what I did and why. ChrysGalley (talk) 21:33, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Your edit to William Latham (pilgrim) has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for information on how to contribute your work appropriately. For legal reasons, Wikipedia strictly cannot host copyrighted text or images from print media or digital platforms without an appropriate and verifiable license. Contributions infringing on copyright will be removed. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. A tag has been placed on File:Jervey, waring, white.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Hi Carolina6240. Thank you for your work on Roger Alley. Another editor, Northernhenge, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
Thanks for creating this article. Currently the references point to websites but don’t indicate how to find the relevant information there. For example, the database needs an ID to search for a person, and the notes & queries page is very long. It is divided into page numbers, so that could help make the reference more useful.

the article does not currently pass WP:GNG. There are no modern (post WWII) sources which state Waring was a South Carolina senator. If one could be found, the article may pass WP:POLITICIAN.
