Expanded Order of Battle (May 1940)
[edit]I have significantly expanded the "Order of Battle" section for the 1940 campaign. The data is based on the official history provided by the Service Historique de l'Armée de Terre (SHAT), specifically the work Les Grandes Unités Françaises de la Guerre 1939-1945 (1967).
Key updates include:
- Inclusion of specific regimental assignments (Infantry, Cavalry, and Artillery) for each division.
- Classification of units into Active, Reserve A, and Reserve B, which is crucial for understanding the performance of the army during the Battle of Sedan (1940).
- Added specialized units like the Bataillons de Chars de Combat (BCC) and the Fortified Sector of Montmédy.
- Updated the Infobox to match standard military unit templates.
The detailed breakdown of the 10th and 18th Army Corps now accurately reflects the front-line strength as of 10 May 1940. Lehrling18 (talk) 15:14, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
