In order to contribute to this topic of growing interest, we aimed to investigate the key challenges to doctoral student research publication and develop an understanding of support they needed to ease the publication process. To this end, we conducted semi-structured interviews with 19 non-English speaking doctoral students in varied science and social science programs at an international university in north Cyprus. The findings revealed that the participants supported the "publish or no degree" policy as a condition for their graduation despite several challenges it created for them, such as lack of publication experience, weaknesses in the article composition, tough criteria of journals, and inadequate support from the instructors at the course phase. Peer-support community among the doctoral students lacked in the examined context and promoting it might yield positive results.

It has been suggested that the use of motivation can help in facilitating learning English. This study investigated the motivating factors for young learners in North Cyprus. The researcher aimed to find out the most motivating factor(s) for learning English for grade five pupils at a primary school in North Cyprus. The results show that there are many motivating factors that positively affect the learners’ attitudes towards learning English as a foreign language. Learners are motivated with many different factors: intrinsically, extrinsically, instrumentally, or integratively.

Besides, it intended to highlight the appropriate solutions provided by respondents to solve these challenges. Six Arab doctoral students (3 males and 3 females) were selected from different departments and Arab countries to participate in the study. The authors used semi-structured interviews as a qualitative method for obtaining specific responses by respondents. Later, the data were analyzed based on the content analysis technique. The findings showed different challenges facing Arab candidates during their program, specifically lacking experience in research methods, academic English, and publication. On the bases of the revealed results, the study provided implications, limitations, and future directions.

The researchers believe there is a relationship between Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) and anxiety. In other words, using mobiles to learn speaking can decrease the amount of anxiety the learners have and motivates them to speak in public. The study included 9 participants (6 females and 3 males); they are either students or graduates of different departments at Aleppo University. First, the learners took a FLCAS pretest. Then, they joined a group on WhatsApp for four weeks, where they had to respond to three tasks a week. At the end of the course, the learners took the FLCAS posttest. Then, 4 participants were interviewed to see their opinions, feedback, and notes about the experience they underwent. The results show that m-learning has significantly decreased the learners' anxiety in speaking English as a foreign language. KEYWORDS M-learning, MALL, Anxiety, EFL INTRODUCTION Mobile assisted language learning MALL is wide-spreading approach and considered one of the 21st century skills. The need for having new methods for teaching, which implement the latest technology, has made the recent literature full of studies about the effectiveness of MALL in teaching English as a foreign language. The use of m-learning to facilitate learning English can decrease the boredom, which usually arise from the traditional ways of teaching, as well as the time and place limitations. As technology is used more in the world and people use it everywhere, there is a need to make use of such tools for learning, rather than restricting it to the leisure activities.

A lot of new methods started looking for the learners from a different point of view, and a lot of teachers have tried to change their methods of teaching to achieve a level that can satisfy all the students' abilities. One of the recent studies shows that learners are of different kinds; the students' abilities of learning vary according to the things presented in class. There are auditory, visual, audiovisual, and kinesthetic learners. The studies even show that when teachers prepare their lessons according to the kinds of learners they have, the results will be higher, and the class will change from a typical class to an interactive one. In this article, there will be a focus on one kind of those learners that is the auditory learners. In this study, a theoretical theory was used to determine the main characteristics of the auditory learners. Another thing, there are some tactics that have proved their effectiveness in motivating such learners, which in turn make the learners achieve better results.
