Overexcitabilities (OEs) that manifest themselves in intense, emotional, and deep experiencing ar... more Overexcitabilities (OEs) that manifest themselves in intense, emotional, and deep experiencing are part of the developmental potential in Kazimierz Dąbrowski's Theory of Positive Disintegration. Most of the studies of OEs are conducted with gifted individuals, using self-evaluation. The present study was carried out among children randomly selected from a general school population, excluding the selective criterion of high abilities. With the use of the Overexcitability Inventory for Parents (OIP-II), parents' perceptions of their children's profiles of OEs were collected. The OIP-II consists of six scales: psychomotor, sensual, imaginational, intellectual OEs, plus emotional sensitivity and emotional empathy. The participants were 116 parents of children aged 8 (13 girls, 29 boys) and 9 (37 girls, 37 boys) from Poland. Introduction: Sometimes the mapping of the variable values made during the measurement needs to b... more Introduction: Sometimes the mapping of the variable values made during the measurement needs to be transformed due to the conditions related to the data analysis. Research Aim: The aim of this article is to present the issue of normalization transformations and the circumstances of their application. Evidence-based Facts: Due to lack of knowledge or experience, transformations are not taken into account in data analysis in education research. And if they do occur, among the most popular methods of data transformation, are chosen those which reduce the skewness of distributions. However, the method of transformation is not always chosen adequately to the properties of the data and the conditions of analysis. Normalization transformations are among the simpler yet effective solutions for preparing data for analysis. Summary: Normalization transformations minimize the risk of artifacts due to differences in orders of magnitude and units of measurement. This is particularly important when conducting analyses using multidimensional scaling and multivariate classification methods.

The article presents the issue of obedience and disobedience, referring to Stanley Milgram’s rese... more The article presents the issue of obedience and disobedience, referring to Stanley Milgram’s research paradigm and the more recent models and observations gathered around this issue. Special attention is paid to the importance attributed to disobedience and its relationship with obedience. According to different authors it allows to see more broadly the mechanisms both of these processes than one-sided description each of them. First of all it shows also the role of the individual’s sense of power in shaping these processes. In the context of the theories author presents the course and results of an experiment. The experiment was devoted to the role of sense of power in determining students obedience toward the commands of the formal teacher’s authority. Project of research was based on a model of power as an approach-inhibition system by D. Keltner, D.H. Gruenfeld and C. Anderson. A part of undergraduates who participated in this study have been inducted in the sense of power, the second part have been reduced. Then checked whether and how long the persons from both groups comply with a groundless and an unreasonable teacher’s command. Hypotheses were confirmed. The results of the experiment are discussed.

Zakładam, że czytelnicy znają podstawową dyskusję dotyczącą "zmiany paradygmatycznej" w badaniach empirycznych i mają świadomość, że nazwy "badania jakościowe" i "badania ilościowe" są umownym skrótem, który może być w różny sposób rozwijany. 2 Innymi słowy: albo jako drugą-obok dotychczasowej-perspektywę prowadzenia badań, dostarczającą razem z pierwszą pełnego obrazu całości życia człowieka (skupianie się na cechach zewnętrznych lub wewnętrznych człowieka); albo jako przyjmowanie nowej ontologii świata stwarzanego przez człowieka .

This paper presents the results of a validation study of an inventory to measure the attitude of ... more This paper presents the results of a validation study of an inventory to measure the attitude of leaders of nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) toward social innovation related to solving local social problems. The study was conducted using a cross‐validation model and an innovative item cluster analysis method to analyze the data, assessing factor structure, the internal consistency of the test, criterion validity, and stability over time. The results indicate a one‐factor structure for the phenomenon and satisfactory psychometric properties for the inventory. The tool makes possible a study of NGO leaders' attitudes toward social innovation to facilitate the design of educational programs related to solving social problems through social innovation.

Empirical studies and a discussion with several positions presented in it. Metoda poznania i niepewność, która poznaniu towarzyszy, stanowią przedmiot refleksji od chwili, ... more Metoda poznania i niepewność, która poznaniu towarzyszy, stanowią przedmiot refleksji od chwili, gdy rozpoczęto formułowanie pytań o sens i jakość wiedzy. Rozważania starożytnych Greków w tym zakresie, szczególnie sofistów, a następnie Sokratesa, Platona i Arystotelesa, dały początek wielowiekowej tradycji badań teoriopoznawczych (por. Woleński, 2007), których efekty inspirowały generacje myślicieli i badaczy zainteresowanych poznaniem lub rozwijaniem praktyk poznawczych w obszarach poszczególnych dziedzin wiedzy i dyscyplin naukowych. Współcześnie, nawet jeśli nie czyni się bezpośrednich odniesień do tej tradycji, to pozostaje się w jej zasięgu. I to nie tylko wówczas, gdy coś o poznaniu próbuje się powiedzieć albo napisać. Podejmowaniu tego tematu musi towarzyszyć świadomość bogatej historii stawiania pytań o zakres możliwego poznania, o jego przebieg, sposoby i skutki. Takich pytań raczej stawiać nie będziemy. Skorzystamy jednak z dorobku poszukiwania na nie odpowiedzi w celu odniesienia problematyki poznania i niepewności do dziedziny edukacji. W badaniach nad edukacją problematykę tę można wprawdzie prezentować tak, jak czyni się to w teorii pomiaru lub w statystyce, w których podkreślana jest nieredukowalność niepewności oraz przedstawiane sposoby jej szacowania. Jednak mniej ścisłe ujęcia pozwalają łączyć niepewność z zagadnieniami ryzyka, niejednoznaczności i niewiedzy (Wakeham, 2015) oraz problematyzować i badać, na styku dydaktyki, psychologii i matematyki, przygotowanie do radzenia sobie z niepewnością (Pratt i Kazak, 2018). Bez trudu można wskazać znacznie szerszy katalog problemów skojarzonych z niepewnością i zarazem istotnych dla badań nad edukacją. The present paper synthesises the results obtained in an exploratory study about adolescents’ onl... more The present paper synthesises the results obtained in an exploratory study about adolescents’ online cyberdating relationships. The main objective of the study was to verifywhether the quality of these relationships depends on pornography consumption, beliefs about sexism in Spanish society, and sex as a variable associated with differentiatingsocio-cultural factors. A total of 240 secondary school students randomly selected from the Castilla-La Mancha region in Spain constituted the sample for the study. The Cyberdating Q_A questionnaire was used to measure the quality of dating relationships among adolescents on social networks. The relationship between the variables considered was tested in a multivariate analysis of the variance model. According to the results, pornographyconsumption was the only factor differentiating the selected dimensions of cyberdating relationships. Sex and sexism turned out to be insignificant. The results were discussed.

Jednym z podstawowych instrumentów ewaluacji nauki są rankingi czasopism, które określają wartość... more Jednym z podstawowych instrumentów ewaluacji nauki są rankingi czasopism, które określają wartość publikacji afiliowanych do poszczególnych dyscyplin naukowych. Zmiana warunków ewaluacji, wprowadzona w Polsce reformą Konstytucja dla nauki, wyznacza nowe zasady oceny czasopism i publikowanych w nich prac. Pozwala przyjrzeć się bliżej relacjom między dyscyplinami naukowymi. Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań, w których wykorzystano dane z pierwszej wersji ministerialnego wykazu czasopism punktowanych, opublikowanego w 2019 roku. Analizie poddano punktację i współafiliacje czasopism do pedagogiki i najbliżej współpracujących z nią dyscyplin, tj. psychologii i nauk socjologicznych. Rezultaty wskazują na podobieństwo rozkładów punktacji czasopism, różnice zaś widoczne są w strukturze afiliacji czasopism do dyscypliny i współdzielenia tej afiliacji.
