Albeiro Rodas
Albeiro Rodas is a Catholic Salesian priest and professor of social communication. He was born in Amalfi-Antioquia (the land of the Jaguar and the Tahamí) in the northern Colombian Andes, in 1970. Since October 12, 1999, he has been in the Kingdom of Cambodia, in Southeast Asia, where he carries out his work. He holds a degree in social communication and journalism, a master's degree in digital communication from the Pontifical Bolivarian University, and a degree in philosophy and education from the same university. He created the social communication school at Don Bosco Sihanoukville in 2007 and in Don Bosco Kep in 2011.
In addition to his work as a priest and professor, Albeiro Rodas has explored his ancestral roots. In 2015, he underwent a DNA test to determine his ethnic composition. The results showed an equitable distribution of three human races: Native American, Afro-Colombian and European & Middle Eastern. He emphasis that even the genetic contribution of Africans and Europeans are important, the prevalence is based on the Native American belonging because he was born in the land of those ancestry in what he calls the Law of Origin.
His interest in discovering his roots and in the origins of the Colombian and Antioquian people led him to explore his genetic makeup, being able to trace his genetic tree to aborigin ancestries of the 16th to 19th centuries such as Francisca Coyac Inca, daughter of Huayna Capac Sapa Inca Yupanqui.
In summary, Albeiro Rodas is a priest and professor with a rich personal history and a deep interest in his ancestral heritage. His work in Cambodia and his quest for identity are highlights of his life and contribute to his legacy.
