Hi, I am Md. Iftekharul Islam Sakib. I am from Mymensingh, one of the most beautiful cities of a piece of heaven named Bangladesh which is located on the southern part of Asia. With a very big heart, Bangladeshi people feel happy to live in harmony and endure difficulties of life altogether. That is why we are the eighth happiest country in the world in spite of being one of the most densely populated countries.

As of January 2019, I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). I have graduated from the Department of CSE, BUET in 2014 and accomplished M.Sc. from the same department in 2018. Before this, I passed S.S.C. from Mymensingh Zilla School in 2006 and H.S.C. from Shahid Syed Nazrul Islam College, Mymensingh in 2008.

I desire to do new, innovative and effective works that will be helpful for all class of people. I will consider myself successful if any of my works can bring a smile to the hard-fought life of ill-off people. To think innovatively I believe, we have to widen our realm of knowledge by researching & gaining knowledge from whatever, wherever and whenever possible.

Per capita land in comparison to the number of people is very insignificant and hence the management of land system holds a vital role in the economic and social aspects of this country. Eventually the land management system of this country urges to grow into a very efficient system. Unfortunately the reality is lagging behind too far and the land management system of this country has gradually become a burdensome matter which is now entirely impotent to encounter the newly evolving land issues and problems. Majority of the conflicts and quarrels in rural as well as urban areas arise as a result of the inefficient and corrupted land systems which in turns often create a long term problem. Nevertheless, some researchers have tried to come up with a solution but none could make it work. The implement level tasks have remained unexplored in some way or other and consequently the land management system have failed to realize its goals. In a nutshell, the land management system is concerned with two major issue-land surveying and land management. Only eyeing to one issue neglecting to face the other one will not come up with a fruitful upshot. Out of this fact identified, the paper proposes a model land management system which offers both the solutions-GPS based land surveying and online land management encompassing an assortment of web based participatory services. We have also implemented our solution using some real life scenario and data and tried to face the real life complications and hitches.

This paper presents the design and prototype implementation of USenSewer, an automated sewerage m... more This paper presents the design and prototype implementation of USenSewer, an automated sewerage management system that uses Arduino microcontroller coupled with an ultrasonic sensor, a NRF module and a GSM module to automate the routine checkup and removal of drain blockage vital for the continuous waste water flow in the big cities. The proposed system consists of three main components; the blockage detection system which is placed inside the drain, the blockage removal system which is placed above the ground level and a control center which controls and coordinates the collection of waste materials placed by the first two components. Several pilot installations of the system in the city of Dhaka have shown that the proposed system significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art manual systems prevailing in the city from the scalability, flexibility and economic point of view.

Attacks and Defenses in Mobile IP: Modeling with Stochastic Game Petri Net

The urging need for seamless connectivity in mobile environment has contributed to the rapid expa... more The urging need for seamless connectivity in mobile environment has contributed to the rapid expansion of Mobile IP. Mobile IP uses wireless transmission medium, thereby making it subject to many security threats during various phases of route optimization. Modeling Mobile IP attacks reasonably and efficiently is the basis for defending against those attacks, which requires quantitative analysis and modeling approaches for expressing threat propagation in Mobile IP. In this Paper, we present four well-known Mobile IP attacks, such as Denial-of-Service (Dos) attack, bombing attack, redirection attack and replay attack and model them with Stochastic Game Petri Net (SGPN). Furthermore, we propose mixed strategy based defense strategies for the aforementioned attacks and model them with SGPN. Finally, we calculate the Nash Equilibrium of the attacker-defender game and thereby obtain the steady state probability of the vulnerable attack states. We show that, under the optimal strategy, an IDS needs to remain active 72.4%, 70%, 68.4% and 66.6% of the time to restrict the attacker's success rate to 8.5%, 6.4%, 7.2% and 8.3% respectively for the aforementioned attacks, thus performing better than the state-of-the-art approach.

One of the major functions of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is to provide the coverage to the n... more One of the major functions of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is to provide the coverage to the network area. Many critical applications require different levels of coverage in the different parts of the network area which is generally called differential coverage. Providing differential coverage service in different period of time is a challenging due to the limited capabilities of the network nodes and due to the different levels of the demand. Moreover, different sensing devices possess different communication ranges and patterns. To handle this challenges, we focus on dynamically energy management with the required service delivery. We provide a self-adjusting approach to construct the energy efficient schedule of low powered wireless sensor nodes. For this, we consider several factors that are characterized by fuzzy membership for better approximation or selection. The evaluation function at first selects the most efficient node among the candidate nodes. Then in the next round, it selects the better node in conjunction with the previously selected nodes. We validate our method by doing experiments and we find that our framework provides the required service including saving energy.

With the swift progress of information and technology, the notion of e-Government and e-Society h... more With the swift progress of information and technology, the notion of e-Government and e-Society has occupied a substantial contour which is now acting as one of the main drivers to reform the prevailing society in different countries of the world. More and more governments around the world chase this phenomenon anticipating to lessen costs, develop services and upturn effectiveness and proficiency in the public sector which signify an ultimate change in the entire public sector structure, values and culture. Though for years e-Governance have boosted the living standard and economies of the developed countries, adoption of e-Government has remained impalpable in the third world countries like Bangladesh. Out of this fact identied, the paper proposes a model system which offers well-adjusted e-Government adoption benchmarks for Bangladesh which involves a blend of electronic and participatory services. The projected system is a generic model which can be replicated to embrace most of the third world countries given the resemblance in the contextual atmosphere. We have shown through our research that unique Citizen Identication Number (cid) based approach can fruitfully eliminate corruption from every level of government services and hence widen the track for the continuance of e-Government or e-Society with a nice feedback.
