This research explores the principles, methodologies, and applications of Printed Circuit Board (... more This research explores the principles, methodologies, and applications of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design, focusing on its relevance and integration into academic curricula for engineering and electronics disciplines. PCBs are fundamental components in virtually all electronic devices, providing the mechanical support and electrical connections necessary for circuit functionality. This study aims to bridge the theoretical aspects of circuit design with practical implementation, equipping students with essential skills in designing, fabricating, and testing PCBs.
Our approach combines theoretical learning modules, hands-on design sessions, and industry-standard design software to teach students how to create efficient, reliable, and scalable PCB layouts. Key design elements such as component placement, routing, signal integrity, thermal management, and power distribution are emphasized to ensure optimal board performance and functionality. The study also addresses common challenges encountered in PCB design, including electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation, impedance control, and miniaturization, which are critical in modern high-speed and compact applications.

Multi-Objective Linear Programming for Project Time-Cost Optimization by Fuzzy Goal Programming with Genetic Algorithm

The project execution time is a major concern to the involved stakeholders (client, contractors and consultants). For optimization of total project cost through time control, crashing cost is considered here as a critical factor. The proposed approach aims to formulate a multi objective linear programming model to simultaneously minimize the total project cost, completion time and crashing cost within the framework of the satisfaction level of decision maker with fuzzy goal and fuzzy cost coefficients. To make such problems realistic, triangular fuzzy numbers and the concept of minimum accepted level method are employed to formulate the problem. The proposed model leads decision makers to choose the desired compromise solution under different risk levels and the project optimization problems have been so...

They make use of sensors and machine states to indicate to end-users various information (e.g. diagnostics or need of maintenance) or to put machines in a specific mode (e.g. shut-down when thermal protection is activated). More specifically, the alarms are often triggered based on comparing sensors data to a threshold defined in the controller’s software. In batch production machines, triggering an alarm (e.g. thermal protection) in the middle of a batch production is crucial for the quality of the produced batch and results into a high production loss. This situation can be avoided if the settings of the production machine (e.g. production speed) is adjusted accordingly based on the temperature monitoring. Therefore, predicting a temperature alarm and adjusting the production speed to avoid triggering the alarm seems logical. In this paper we show the effectiveness of Least Squares Support Vector Machines (LS-SVMs) in predicting the evolution of the temperature in a steel production machine and, as a consequence, possible alarms due to overheating. Firstly, in an offline fashion, we develop a micro controller based heat detector model, where a systematic model selection procedure allows to carefully tune the model parameters. Afterwards, the Micro controller model is used online to forecast the future temperature trend. Finally, in this project we are detecting machine overheat by micro controller.

It is controlled either autonomously by on-board computers or by remote control of a pilot on the ground. Its usage is currently limited by difficulties such as satellite communication and cost. A Drone has been built that can be operated by radio frequency controller and send live audio-visual feedback. The developed Drone control system has been simulated in MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation shows a very stable operation and control of the developed Drone. Microcontroller based drone control system has also been developed where a RF transmitter and receiver operating in the frequency of 2.4 GHz are used for remote operation for the Drone. Earlier, Drones were deployed for military applications such as spying on both domestic and international threats. The developed drone in this work can be used for a number of applications, such as policing, firefighting, monitoring flood effected areas, recording video footage from impassable areas and both military and non-military security work. In addition, using an Android mobile device incorporation with GPS has been used for live position tracking of Drone and real time audio-visual feedback from Drone.

The same is true for fuel tanks in vehicles as well. By keeping strict track of fuel intake and consumption, vehicles can be made more fuel and cost efficient. This can be done using remote monitoring and data collection systems deployed at the site of the fuel storage tank. This proposed monitoring device is built on Atmega16 computer that takes fuel tank level information from its sensors and analyses this data at the sensor edge to find patterns using edge analytics technology. These patterns and data are streamed to the internet, either an android app or a website. This paper presents the implementation of such a monitoring system based on GSM technology to protect the fuel customers from theft at the gas stations and formulate better conservation strategies.

Number of vehicle are increasing every year. As a result traffic congestion is a common scenario in recent years. One of the reason is manually toll collection system. Lots of working hours are wasting here, so it is essential to modernize the tool system. A system that can collect toll automatically so that we can save our time.
In our project, we have tried to automate the manual system by using RFID technology. We have interfaced steeper motor, IR sensor module and Arduino NANO microcontroller. When a vehicle arrives, if the driver has registered RFID card and sufficient balance on RFID card, He just need to punch it on the RFID sensor, then the system will work automatically like deduct actual toll amount from RFID card balance. There will be to IR sensor module to sense the arriving and leaving of the vehicle. So it will bring automation on barrier which have made by stepper motor. When car arrives first sensor will sense the vehicle and wait until it punch card on reader if he doesn’t punch due to insufficient balance or not RFID registered it then it have to pay manually. But, if the driver have registered RFID card and sufficient amount of balance and punch on RFID Reader, LCD display will show the confirmation message, the barrier will rise up 90 degree and wait for the vehicle to go and when second sensor sense leveeing of the vehicle and when it passes away the moto barrier will go down by 90 degree.

Today in this present era where technological advances are at its vertex, there is not even a single sector which remains untouched by technology. Technology has not merely established our lives simpler, but also offers a high level of safety and security wherever required. Technological devices are available which provides refuge for all the mankind. In our day to day lives, we all use cooking fuel for cooking our daily meals, but if this fuel gets leaked due to some or the other way, and then there is a large possibility of a calamity to occur around. Hazards due to gas leakage are dangerous and can become uncontrollable if timely actions are not taken. But this gas leak mostly remains unnoticed and there should be some means to observe them so that a quick action can be brought. The gas leak sensor is such a device which detects the gas leaks at initial levels and warns the people of the same. This paper basically deals with the development of a simple gas leak detector at the initial stage and then transforming this simple device into a most advanced gas detector system in the future. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 285 million people are visually impaired worldwide, 39 million are blind and 246 million have low vision. About 90% of the world’s visually impaired live in the developing countries [3]. For the indigents and remotely rural living people blindness is a curse as they need help to work outside and do all other daily essential works. This paper glows a system that tries to remove the curse of blindness and make them self-dependent to their daily chores. Moving through an unknown environment becomes a real challenge when we can’t rely on our own eyes.
