Concerns about the impact of safety management (SM) on individuals' performance (IP) are widely s... more Concerns about the impact of safety management (SM) on individuals' performance (IP) are widely spread across multiple disciplines. Individuals' performance is seen as the key to achieving a safe work environment. Researchers have provided valuable insights into the determinants of SM and IP. Hence, the measures of safety management in organizations are safety culture (SE), organization size (OS), organization priority (OP), and projected profitability (PP). Whereas, the measures for individuals' performance toward safety are safety procedures (SP), safety personnel (SPE), safety equipment (SE), and safe working conditions (SWC). Thus, the present study aims to investigate the impact of safety management on individuals' performance. The study presents an empirical analysis of the underlying research framework by surveying individuals in an academic organization. A population of 500 participants was targeted, while the collected sample was 250 respondents. This sample was selected using a simple random sampling technique. Then, the collected quantitative data was analyzed using SPSS. The results revealed a significant and positive relationship between SM and IP.

This paper presents project managers (PM) competencies that influence the successful achievement ... more This paper presents project managers (PM) competencies that influence the successful achievement of sustainable development (SD) projects. A relevant literature review is conducted to summarize the PMs' competencies that lead to outstanding performance in projects. Then, this has been narrowed down to find out the PMs' competencies that influence the adoption and completion of SD projects. Considering the different views, the primary purpose of this exploration is to illustrate the PMs' competencies that have a positive impact on the achievement of SD projects in an integrative model. The investigation indicates that there are four main categories of PMs' competencies that influence the success of SD projects: project management skills, team management abilities, emotional intelligence skills, and formal skills. Hence, this study demonstrates a model inclusively for PMs to relate the found PMs' competencies to the successful implementation of SD projects. The model primarily explains that PMs who acquire the found competencies have a higher potential to achieve outstanding results in existing and future SD projects.

Moving towards corporate sustainability requires well-planned change management that can enhance economic growth, environmental protection, and social equity inside organizations. This requires capable managers, who can alter the behaviors and skills of the employees to focus on sustainability targets. Accordingly, this research proposes a framework that deploys change management aspects to achieve corporate sustainability. In particular, the suggested framework demonstrates three main stages that are readiness for change, corporate sustainability processes, and implementing change. The findings reveal that following these stages, respectively and precisely, helps managers and employees utilize the change management aspects effectively to achieve corporate sustainability.

construction projects in the United Arab Emirates, and considers the construction project managers’ (CPMs’) competences as a mediator of this relationship. The discussion arises mainly based on the considerable controversy regarding these relationships that appear in the literature. In order to resolve this controversy, a research framework is established preceded
by a theoretical discussion of the innovation diffusion theory (IDT) and the high performance managerial competences (HPMC) theory in different organizational contexts. The primary proposition of this framework is that the construction environment will influence the delivery of innovation in construction projects, given that the construction project managers’ competences can have a substantial mediation effect on this relationship. The model of this research is then reflected in terms
of different outcomes related to construction environment, construction project managers’ competences, and the delivery of innovation in construction projects.

T... more This paper employs a mathematical model to improve the effectiveness of preventive maintenance. The study focuses on using real data of a feed pump (FP) in a petroleum refinery plant to test the effectiveness of the PM model and its impact on both reliability and maintainability. The model is tested for different scenarios by changing one of the main variables each time. These scenarios are developed using different values of failure rate to determine the steady state probability at normal operation. This will allow obtaining the best scheduling time for PM and improving the reliability of the feed pump. The timing of the preventive maintenance is essential to reduce system failure and corrective maintenance. The model helps to find good and decisive time, when the preventive maintenance work is superior rather than having a corrective action to repair the feed pump. This model supports the plant for sustainability and cost effectiveness with good timing and effective PM. Therefore, at high failure rate the probability of the Feed Pump failure will increase. In this case the availability of the Feed Pump will decrease, indicating that there is a need to perform PM works on the system. The results show that the life span of the system is extended with proposed PM model. Accordingly, increasing the reliability will increase the operational life cycle by reducing failures during operations, hence reducing the total costs by improving the availability.

This book, therefore, investigates the impact of project manager innovation competencies on the delivery of successful innovation in projects, and analytically examines the mediation effect of the project manager innovation personality traits and environment on the relationship between the project manager innovation competencies and the delivery of successful innovation in projects. The study employs a quantitative method, and the data analysis is performed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Structural Equation Modeling (AMOS) by means of multiple-regression, path and mediation analysis. The findings indicate that the studied project manager innovation competencies have a direct positive impact on the delivery of successful innovation in projects, and that the project manager innovation personality traits and environment mediate this relationship. The analysis should be useful to project managers who intent to deliver successful innovation in projects, or anyone interested in utilizing structural equation modeling.

Preventive Maintenance (PM) is one of the mot effective solutions. However, many considerations should be taken into account to perform it successfully. For example, Factors such as probability of system operating normally (availability), probability of system being down for PM and probability of system failure. Also, selecting the right time to do the PM works is a main concern. Besides, PM activities can improve reliability of certain equipment. This study uses the Feed Pump (FP) of a typical Hydrosulfurization (HDS) plant as an application. The main goal of this project is improving the effectiveness of PM. Therefore, the author have investigated in literature and found a suitable model. Each time one of the model input variables changes, while the remaining input rates are constant. The probabilities at normal conditions and steady state are calculated. In addition, reliability is determined using different model, which requires the failure rate values. The results indicate that the earlier PM is performed, the better.
