A six-year-old girl has died after falling from a bedroom window in a North York apartment building on Sunday evening.
Police were called to a building near Chalkfarm Drive and Jane Street, in Toronto, at around 8:15 p.m. on Sunday, according to a Toronto Police Operations post on X.
Toronto Police Service spokesperson Amy Davey said the girl fell from “a very high floor.” Police have not yet released the identity of the child.
The building is made up of four high-rises, has approximately 30 floors, and houses around 4,000 people, according to the website for Greenwin, the property management company. The building was built in the early 1970s.
Const. Davey said police are investigating but the incident does not appear suspicious.
Investigators remain on scene pending an autopsy report, police said on X.
Greenwin did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
