Figure 1 From Figure 1, it is evident that almost all sectors in Pakistan are collecting geospatial data, however, the data is not being shared, resulting ina collection of duplicated data, wastage of public funds and compromised quality of the data. Hence only a fractional part of the collected data is used in making and implementing policies. The full potential of geospatial data can only be realized through its efficient management and sharing. Governments play an important role in realizing the potential of geospatial data by making it discoverable, available and accessible through the establishment of National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).
