This is a composite armour (see Fig. 66 /Plate XX/), made up of a one-piece breastplate (with a lower plate attached) a two-piece backplate, ower arm- and leg-defences, and an armet (a helmet made of three plates hinged together) with its visor missing. This helmet has the master-mark T (twice on the tail-piece, and once on either cheekpiece). The vambraces bear the master-mark of a gothic O. Scalini dates the helmet to c 1370 and the body armour to 1370-1410. It is not known whether the gauntlets belonged. Figure 66: Armour (Churburg 18). Photograph by courtesy of Count Trapp.

The armour of Galeazzo d’Arco (see Fig. 72 /Plate XXI/) bears work- shop marks of a crowned my and an m below a split cross in several places, including the helmet.
