Map showing collection sites of Origanum species in study area The aim of this study was to investigate the soil characteristics of Origanum saccatum, O. hypericifolium, O. leptocladum and O. husnucan-baserii species through evaluating some soil specifications following their natural distribution in south Anatolian part of Turkey. For this purpose, specimens of Origanum spp. were collected from 14 ocalities along the southern part of Turkey Fig. 1) and identified according to Davis 1982) and Duman (2000). Specimens are ept at the personal herbarium with a Temel code in Afyon Kocatepe University, in Turkey. These localities are listed below according to nearest city (Table 1). Table 1.
