Cyclic voltamme- try was tested in an electrochemical cell containing the Ag/AgCl electrode as the reference, Pt wire as the coun- ter electrode and the electrode material grown on SS as the working electrode. Electrochemical performance was measured in 1 M KOH aqueous electrolyte at standard conditions.

air, in the range of 4000 to 400 cm™*. In Figure 3A, the peaks at 447 and 889cm' are corresponding to Zn-O stretching and deformation vibration. Both peaks located at 1405 and 1620 cm™’ are due to O-H vibration and stretch- ing. From Figure 3B which attributed to the electrodepos- ited of NiO thin films onto SS substrate; we can see the Ni-O vibrational band peak appearing at 403 cm™', while the peak at 682 cm™! corresponds to a stretching Ni-O-H band. The peaks that appeared at 1391, 1535, and 1621 cm" attributed to O-H stretching and deformation. The above information confirmed the formation of NiO thin films might initially contain water. Bodurov G. et al. who have prepared NiO thin films by electrodeposition onto ITO coated glass substrate obtain the same result.™*
