Table 1: Soil Loss for an Annual Average Rainfall under Varying Vegetative Cover There is a world of innovations to be discovered in addressing the challenge of building Resilience at the level of the farm, especially when we are farming in sensitive environments. The HNVI is one such innovation. It conveys to farmers the idea that the casual adoption of modern technologies may not only be detrimental to conservation practices in a sensitive environment, but may also erode the resilience and sustainability of their own land base.
