With respect to the biovolumes, cyanobacterial communities were dissimilar (P < 0.001; Fig. 6a) among years. To examine apparent annual differ- ences in cyanobacterial composition, stations were classified as 2003/2004 and 2005 sample groups (see Fig. 6b). M. aeruginosa was the dominant and most- widespread cyanobacterium within the 2003/2004 sample group (Table 3; Fig. 6b), contributing ca. 80% of the similarity among stations and greater than 80% of the relative biomass throughout the Lake proper (Fig. 6c). In 2005, Planktothrix agardhii (Gomont) Anagnostidis and Komarek was dominant
