These plans combine the voluptuousness, the thickness of Baroque materiality with the asymmetry, openness and rationality of a Modern floor plan, resulting in hybrid conditions. To the surprise of the authors, when using Databases of Baroque or Modern Architecture plans to design new projects, the results don't look Baroque or Modern. They result in something new, different, alien, strange and wonder- fully beautiful - maybe the first genuine 21st century architecture. knowledge of abstract high-level concepts performed In a hierarchical sequence — the epistemological question however as to how humans acquire the skill to learn such abstractions remains a mystery. It starts with a raw mental sketch (“design an airport and deliver the result at the competition deadline’). This first mental sketch is then subdivided into a detailed sequence of sub targets necessary for the planning process (read the competition brief, calculate hour estimates, assemble a team, etc.). Then follows a set of sub sub targets that allow to refine the process further, breaking up the planning process into a series of events necessary to move successfully through the planning process, down to the bodily action of moving
